My wife and I just bought our first Subaru. After seeing everybody's posts about prices I thought I would share mine. I thought I got a great deal: Sticker was $25,964 (included Auto Dim Mirror/Compass/Homelink, Security System upgrade, and armrest extension). But they went down to $19,995 after the $2000 rebate. OTD was $21,583 plus a free window tint. Overall we were extremely pleased at both the car and the dealership (North Park in San Antonio). No one tried to pressure us at all. |

I bought my first Subaru at the end of July from West Herr in New York. We live in Canada so the purchase process was done over the phone and via e-mail. At the end of the negotiations we paid $27,030 and the dealer included an auto-dimming mirror, floor mats and four cargo nets. This price includes PDI and freight, but does not include any taxes. I think the deal is in-line with what I've seen on this forum. We're very happy with the car and I would absolutely buy in the U.S. again given lower sticker prices and a strong Canadian dollar. Thanks to NAFTA, the Indiana built Subie is excluded from excise taxes so we just had to pay our Federal and Provincial levies - in total about 14% based on the purchase price. In total we saved about 25% as compared with the same vehicle in Canada! If you would like to know more about the negotiation, export or warranty issues, just let me know.
