I ended up paying $24,500 OTD for Outback 2.5i Limited Auto, autodim w/homelink, all weather mats, and security upgrade....and I ended up getting the green. I was debating between the green and the blue......I liked both a lot, but ultimately chose green.

I also took advantage of the 2 year 0% financing.

Anyway, we went on our first trip in the car over the weekend and got about 27mpg and enjoyed the drive greatly!!!

Just bought a 2.5i wagon automatic with cargo net and all weather mat last weekend for $22900 OTD. I paid additional $900 for 3yrs/36K maintenance package which including regular oil changes every 3k, tire rotation/alignment & 12.5K/36k services. They have extended the $2000 rebate to end of july.

Sounds like you got a great deal.
I am not the best negotiator, so I was thinking of working with one of the agencies that buys cars for you for cheap, but I might need to rethink. I was quoted $25,240 for the limited auto. What Seattle are dealership did you work with? Just might need to stop in today.

Pricing on LL Bean wagon with NAV by djetta

I'm just wondering what kind of pricing anyone has been getting for the LL Bean wagon with NAV and how low I might be able to go. So far, I've only been able to get $1500 off an invoice of $32,754 or $31,254 before tax and it appears that local dealers have many on the lots. I also read somewhere today that the new Subies are having a price decrease for 2007 ($2000 on the LL Bean) so I'm wondering if I can use that as a bargaining chip. Or, maybe I should just wait for the new model..............

$21,797 OTD price for Outback 2.5i auto with mats by mississippi

Thanks to the many participants on this forum for the helpful information as I was in the process of buying a new Outback. So, in the spirit of passing along info to assist future buyers, I wanted to share my price/buying experience:

I used the "fax attack" strategy similar to that advocated by fightingchance.com. Basically, I sent out about 10-12 faxes to area Subaru dealerships, asking them for their best price quotes. I received 8 replies. The lowest price bids were received from Fitzgerald (Fitzmall) in MD, Stohlmann (in Tysons Crnr, VA) and Heritage (in Owings Mills, MD). I ended up calling our local dealership, Paul Bros. of Herndon, VA (whose intial quote was $900 higher, and they agreed to match the lowest price, so I ended up purchasing from them. So, in the end, here's how the pricing broke down for the Atl blue Outback 2.5i, auto, cloth seats, with all-weather mats: $22,949, less 2000 rebate, plus taxes, tags and fees for a total OTD price of $21,797.47. We also took advantage of the 0% financing, so ended up with a nice pkg. We did all this by computer, and only had to spend 20 minutes at the dealership to sign the final papers and drive away with the car.

All in all, if you live in the Washington DC metro area, the dealerships that offered me the most competitive prices right off the bat were Fitzgerald (very pleasant and professional)and Stohlman (although the salesman here was a bit hard-edged). Other dealerships even admitted that they have a hard time beating the prices of these two large sellers. The use of the fax attack resulted in a lowering of their initial pricing by about $100 - so not sure if it was worth the time and effort, altho it did confirm for me that I was getting a decent deal.

Hope this helps and good luck shopping!

I am from Canada. I travelled over 1000km to Seattle to get the car from
Carter Subaru... deal with their internet guy. www.cars101.com is his site. I paid slightly under $24K for 2.5i limited (auto). And if you are in the US, apparently you also get their 0% financing. Heck of a deal. I did not have to negotiate any deal. He offered me a fair deal.

I just returned from Seattle after a really nice drive back to Canada. Oh yes, I also got auto dimming mirror w/ compass, subwoofer, all weather mats. Bought it from Carter Subaru. No pressure at all. After my correspondence on email for the deal, actual deal was sealed over 5 minutes telephone call. I paid $23.8K for 2.5i ltd auto.

I did not have to negotiate anything.

Was $23.8K before or after the rebate? I'm going Outback shopping tomorrow and would love to have this info. Thanks!

after rebate. it was through the internet sales manager who i contacted through www.cars101.com. I don't know what the arrangement is for walking in to purchase. I did notice that Subaru has dropped prices for 2007 by almost $1000 in some cases. you will find details through the listed website. Good Luck! I did notice another dealer offering extended warranty.

OTD ... so does it includes the sales tax? The price I paid did not include WA sales tax.
