Replying to: rudi2 (Aug 02, 2007 12:56 pm) We were pleased when we first achieved over the 30MPG hwy rating on our Legacy. We've noticed a small bump (1-2 MPG increase) as the engine has become "broken in" (15,000-19,000 miles), and this seems to be fairly common. If you drive in a gentle manner, I think it's possible to get good mileage. Of course, whenever we drive a bit more aggressively (say, stomping it on the freeway onramp), the MPG goes down.

When is the 6 cylinder Legacy sedan going to be at the dealers? Are they available anywhere?

Just thought I'd share the details of my recent purchase from Luther White Bear Lake Subaru in MN. Overall a very positive experience, with what I think is a reasonable price. I could probably have done better if I'd been willing to haggle more, but the price I arrived at was painless. '08 Legacy GT Automatic Transmission All Weather Floor Mats Spoiler MSRP = $30884 Purchase Price = $28300 + tax & title. Note that this is after the $750 rebate. No trade in to complicate matters; just a straight sale.
