He probably sells a lot of automatics..

Only the sticks have the 50/50 split..

I have to say, that the handling part of the AWD system surprised me (in a good way).. Unfortunately, my Impreza has crappy tires and a not that great suspension... But, the steering/power inputs are pretty darn good!

Yeah, he probably sells more automatic Imprezas.

Most WRXs are manuals, though, so he should have known better.

It's 50/50 by default, and a fluid-filled viscous coupling will lock up temporarily when the front and rear axles spin at different rates.

My 98 Forester had that system. It *definitely* does not feel like FWD, not at all. In fact more people complain that they are tail happy, vs. a FWD feel, or torque steer, or any FWD related traits.

Gun it in the snow, and the tail will slip out, the VC acts and shifts power to the front wheels, which pulls you out of the skid. Stay on the gas, and if you're good, you can get the tail to wag in the other direction, as power cycles back to the rear axle.

Let's just say I had a LOT of fun in the snow with my Forester.

Another thing you'll notice - the tires wear more evenly. Usually the fronts wear a lot faster.

Actually Juice, for '09 all WRXs are manuals. If you want an Auto you have to get a GT.

And Yes, Subarus are fun in the snow. And Dirt. And rain. And Sun.

I got quoted $20,515 + Tax + DMV. Is this worth pursuing? Appreciate your input.

Thanks

Sorry about that - had included the information in the title.

This is for 2009 2.5i 5dr Auto Premium (Impreza). MSRP was $21,903.

Thanks

Doesn't sound that great.

I read an article about Subaru saying that they are the sole car manufacturer not to post a loss for 08', this was bad news for me as I thought like every other car company they might start offering discounts.

Sounds like they are not budging with the 09 Premiuim 2.5i 5 dr but I have seen a significanct number of 08 Imprezas in dealer inventory.

Anyone purchase an 08 for a great price this month?

I agree, not that great. It's less than $20 under invoice. I've been getting email quotes for '09 Impreza 5 dr Premium and Base both at $400 under invoice plus $500 lease cash. $900 total under invoice. One of my local dealers has 60 Imprezas. I decided to go with the Legacy for about the same money though.

I've been getting e-mail quotes for 2009 2.5i 5dr Auto Premium's for $19,699. MSRP $22,047. That appears to be pretty good to me already, but what do I know... how does this quote sound to you guys?
