Drove an 09 WRX today. Hmmm. Nice car. Power was good, seating comfy, clutch a bit touchy. Not sure I could stand driving it daily but I assume about 2k off sticker is a decent price on one?

Sounds about right - invoice or so even for the new 2009s.

You can get a price referenc at fitzmall.com, a no-haggle dealer in the Mid-Atlantic. As your local dealer to match or beat their price if you're not close enough.

In San Diego. Dealer really wants my Cooper S. They came out with high KBB on trade-in for it.

Not sure I really want their car though.

What's the MSRP on the WRX, and what's the delta between the two?

MSRP of 26k. Figure 24k might be possible. Why?

Just curious on how much you've got to spend to "upgrade" to the WRX..

Other than gaining a backseat, just wondering if you'll like it.. When your foot isn't in it, you'll be driving an economy car (okay, that won't be often..)

That's why I said I'm not sold on on the WRX. I'm going to beat on another one this week. This time I'll drive it normal - my version of normal which appears really hard to most drivers.

I know you are looking for something with easier access to the back seat.... but, I think you'll miss the MINI, if you go for a WRX...

I will miss the Mini no matter what. Little choice. The "bundle of joy" pretty much demands something with rear seat access. I know I can get by for 10-11 months more but my wife would like it if we had two cars that could be used for family outings.

The Rex will never be a Mini but sometimes you gotta take what'll work.

You also gain AWD, but I think the 2009 comes with summer tires so don't use that as too much of a selling point.
