I'd be cautious about any STi like that one and make sure you get a carfax. I had one dealer try to sell me a 'demo' but it turns out it had an engine block failure and was replaced. What did the dealer tell me? "It needed a new fan belt."

It had been sold to someone and when the block failed I guess the dealer or Subaru took the car back, replaced the block, and was selling it as a demo. I guess that would be the equivalent of 'refurbished'.

I think finding an '08 will be difficult but there are probably still a few out there but you might have to drive a ways.

Hi, I'm looking at an 08 Impreza 2.5i automatic with premium package, 4 door, with ipod adapter, arm rest, and mirror with homelink for $17,750. I've contact 3 other dealers that tell me they can't matche the price. Is this a good deal?

That's a great deal. I really want to get an STi, but don't want to shell out over 30K. My father purchased the first gen STi and had some work done to it. That sucker was scary fast. It was also a lot leaner and meaner.

Thanks for letting us know what you paid. Enjoy

PS. What color?

2009 Impreza 2.5i/Premium 4 door $18000 by shyam423

Just bought a 2009 Impreza 2.5i/Premium 4 door automatic for 18000 + 199 doc. THis includes a 1997 ford escort (107500 miles) trade in. KBB trade in value was listed at $750. So I would like to think I got it for $19000 OTD. The dealer threw in free oil change for 3 years (total 6 changes). I also got 3.9 % financing. May be I could have got a few hundred dollars off, but didn't want to haggle too much. Live and let live is my motto.

Usually OTD includes tax, title and license. If so, that's a nice deal.

Dealers offer a whole sale trade, so that Escort probably was valued lower than that. They give you a little less than they think they could get at auction, so I bet it's more like $300-400.

That means the Impreza was an even better deal than you thought.

You may be right. On my first visit to the dealer he asked me if I'm trading in anything. When I showed him my car he had it appraised and came back with a $300 offer. The Escort needed new tires, windshield, a heallight and timing belt. It also had 2 body work done on it, one of which was badly done which caused the paint to peel off in a few places resuting in minor rust. I never had the engine tuned on that little sucker, but it still ran like a champ, and I live in the snow belt. So I must have got a good deal on the Impreza. Even otherwise I'm ok because I got a great new car.

What is a good price for one that has a sticker of $36,508? I'm located in San Antonio.
