| I just purchased my Forester in Omaha and got it for 23,318 (out the door). That included was a XS auto, with Moon Roof, Extend arm rest, and auto-dimming mirrors. Based on TMV value the price seems to be okay, but what do other people think? | |

That's pretty well loaded up, XS Premium with automatic. Not bad. The average cars costs $27 grand and you got a lot more for about $4 grand less than average. -juice |

But we need one, so we are thinking of heading down to fitzmall this weekend and hope for the best. There are a number of lessons that I have learnt from this -- the most important being not to put down any money till the car is physically on the dealer lot. Will be glad to share further experiences about how this gets resolved but am anxious about the deposit now. Thanks. |

They may not ever have actually charged you. Often they'll just take a credit card "print" and hold it. Ask for the print back and tear it up. Take your business so a more honest place, you deserve to be treated better. -juice

Sorry, I guess I read that wrong, I thought you meant they had not charged you after 4 days. They have not credited you, OK now I get it. I bet they are stalling in hopes that you will change your mind. Just keep persisting as you've been already. -juice |

maybe you need to start playing hardball... threaten to report them to the BBB. And most definitely take your business elsewhere! -Frank |

I would call the credit card company back and insist they dispute it now and issue temporary credit. Tell them that you've not gotten what you paid for, were told when to expect it and didn't get it then, asked for a refund and was lied to about it. This is very clear cut and you need to explain it as such. If I were you I wouldn't be anxious.. you didn't buy anything and tried to get a refund. Have you considered options like the Costco Auto buying program or AAA car buying program? My guess is that program prices are $300-$500 over invoice. |
