Hey all, I've been reading some of these postings, and I get the feeling there are some real pros out there. I live in MA, and I'm about to buy a Forester--what do you think a fair price would be for a 2007 Forester X- automatic (standard options)? I get so confused about invoice price, hold-back, fees and other junk and everything else.  Someone help me please!

Replying to: 2007forester (Nov 16, 2006 8:55 pm) 2. Go to subaru.com and get a list of about 10~12 dealers in your area. 3. Send an email to all the dealers requesting price quote for the car and dealer/documentation fee. 4. 2.5X A/T supplies are plenty. Your target price must be $19,000 (including destination) + lowest doc/dealer fee (that you get from dealer quotes) + invoice price on all accessories on the unit. Taxes and title are extra. 5. Send your target price to dealers and take it from there. 6. If possible, try to purchase at end of the month. Dealers will be willing to deal to meet their monthly quotas. Check if the dealer can get you better financing rates. Don't be too rigid about the target price. Buy it from a dealer who is fair and treats you right even if it means paying $200-$300 above your target price. Good Luck! |

I just bought and was looking all the way over to Columbia and West to Salina and ended up buying in Topeka KS. Look back a few pages. If you are looking for 06's, check out the Lawrence KS dealership. He has some 06's. IF you intend to drive the car into the ground, year doesn't make a difference and and 06 can reduce the taxes. That's not a big deal in some states, but can be in places like KS, something like 125 bucks.
