yes, I have been happy with my Q. Up until a couple weeks ago here, temps outside were in the 90s and I've had no complaints with the AC. I keep it set around 78 & my wife keeps it set at 80 and neither of us have had any issue with it keeping us comfortable & cool.

I live in central Jersey and have owned two QX56's since '04. I have no complains with the AC dispite what other say.
There is a lot of cu.ft. interior space in this SUV to cool down and I find the speed at which it aquires a comfortable temp. appropriate for it's size.
Good luck to you if you decide to pull the trigger.

EXPLODING AIRBAGS! by jtichy

Last weekend my family and I were headed home in our 2005 QX56. We stopped to get gas. When we tried to start the car it was completely dead. Luckily, we were at a gas station with a mechanic. He changed out the battery (yes, it was the correct size). The car was still turned off at this point when all of the sudden all the side curtain airbags in the whole car exploded and went off with my wife and 5 year old son inside. The dashboard bags did not go off. Has anyone heard of this before? I know it sounds completely bizarre. Nothing mechanical is wrong with the car. It starts and idols fine. It is currently sitting at the dealer awaiting the Infiniti tech "specialist" to determine if it will be covered under warranty. I pray that it is. The bill I am sure will be around $10,000! Please help if anyone else has heard of or had this problem. Thanks....

That's got to be a scary experience. We get occasional reports about air bags deploying for no apparent reason though I don't recall offhand whether any of them were Infiniti.

I'd also like to know whether anyone else has had this happen. Anyone?

Thanks for th response. It was very scary especially since my 5 year old son and wife were in the car at the time. Thankfully, she happened to be turned away from the door talking to my son (who was sitting on the floor behind the driver's seat). My experience in dealing with the Infiniti Factory - consumer relations department has been rather disappointing. They are taking a very reserved approach. Go figure! I have the Infiniti extended factory warranty and all they seem to be concerned about is finding some other fault for the airbags deploying. Their response to me was "if their engineers find all components were functioning properly they will not cover it". I am not sure how airbags deploying on their own are not considered a malfunction...but we'll see. Not quite the response you would want to hear from a "luxury" car manufacturer. I'll update my posts to keep you in the loop. If you happen to remember if any of the other reports you had were Infiniti please keep me updated. I did some online research and found the 2005 Q45's airbag module had an high amount of complaints and replacments. Thanks for your help.
