That sounds like something my dealer would do, to take 30 minutes to deliver the vehicle and forget to check things. I have big a really big Nissan advocate ever since I got my 2004 S, but the service department is killing me. Got a broken latch on the glove box (the one on top, ont he driver side). It's a long story, but they told me it would take an hour. 90 minutes later I return and they haven't even started and tell me that they will never be able to do anything in less than 2.5 hours... Even the oil change took half a day and I had to take their crummy little courtesy van to my office and back... And this dealer has the Nissan "circle of excellence" award, or whatever the heck they call it. I think they need to raise their standards. I am going to try anothe dealer. I still recommend the Quest to friends, mine has been generally problem-free (except for this little issue), and my salesman was good. It's the best van for the money. But after my experience and many things I have read online, I cannot recommend the service. Driving home from that, it made me think my next car will be an expensive luxury car, just so I can sit in the fancy lounge and drink quality coffee or get a free loaner car, like they all advertise on the radio. A pre-owned Acura or something...

Hi! I am writing directly to "jbr01". My wife and I have the same problem with the A/C. The Nissan dealer we I bought my Quest from deny's that anything is wrong with the air. I would like to ask of you the steps you have taken if any other than what you stated about the tv news and newspaper. My wife doesn't even drive our NISSAN QUEST because it is so uncomfortable to drive with the heat. My wife says the kids are sweating when she gets them out of the van even after 20 minutes of driving to her mothers house and from there they take her moms TOYOTA SIENNA to where ever they go for the day. Also, do you have and issue with the overhead lights the run along the side in the center and rear seating area? I would appreciate any information in resolving my issue with the A/C. We are quite disappointed with our quest. NISSAN QUEST

I'm pleased to report a happy ending, though - I called again and the mechanic at the desk said to bring it in, he looked at it right away, took it upstairs himself and tightened the bolt properly. Took 10 minutes.
Of course I noticed something on the way out - according to the mpg readout I'm now getting ~6mpg in the city (NYC, AC on high, 90 degrees, 300% humidity, stop-and-go, more stop than go...) Yikes. I'll have to check again when I'm out on the highway later today.

I followed the thread about the hatch bolt; dealer taking 30 minutes to bring the car up and it reminded me of an incident I had with Ford years ago.
I had an 89 For Probe LX. The problems with that car make the Quest look trouble free. One of the many issues was that the trip computer display blew a light bulb. It took three visits for them to see where the display actually is. They kept saying everything is good: they were looking at the digital dashboard.
I brought the General Manager out to my car to show her it was still broken (trip computer). She arranged for a loaner and took the car back. The next day I got "the" call: 'everything looks fine'. I made it simple for them. I asked them to go into the car, look at the radio, let their gaze travel up until they hit the windshield, then look down a few inches - I walked him through this on a cell phone. - and amazingly he actually says, "Hey, the light for display is out". I do not believe their is an IQ test for this position.
Maybe one day Quality will be an actual job.

By way of update, my '04 Quest A/C that once performed miserably is still cooling quite well (not as well as other cars I've had, but well enough to be satisfied with it--1000% better than what it was doing!). It's now been over a month in the hot Texas summer and the repair I mentioned earlier seems to have fixed the problem. Some of you guys might try to suggest it to your dealership's mechanic and maybe your A/C will also improve.

Well, I wanted to update. I've been in 7 times for a door rattle now and opened a case with nissan. they replaced all the seals and sent a specialist up from the factory and kept the car for two days at this time replaced the dovetails with new redesigned model. Van was great for 3 weeks, then started to rattle again. Called Nissan back, they told me that was all they would do and there is nothing else to do. If the rattle annoys me enough, I'll pursue a lemon lay claim, it only has 9000 miles, boy never again with Nissan, my mistake.

I just took my 2005 Quest in for an oil change and I asked them to check the passenger window for a wind noise. I ended up getting the typical "we can't seem to find it" response. I only seem to get it when either it's a windy day or I'm driving on the highway. Is this just me being fussy or is this a normal sound for the Quest. If it is an actual problem, does anyone have any suggestions on how I might be able to find the source of the air leak? Do wind deflectors or vent visors do anything to help wind noise? Thanks.

Hi - Thanks very much for your instructions, they were most helpfull.
However I am now stuck because I can't find the fuse that powers the "For Towing" wire located in the left rear compartment.
Can you assist with locating this fuse - All fuses seem to be in place under the hood and under the dashboard
