When I was shopping around in May, I emailed all the local dealers in the bay area. I also felt that Marin seemed unpleasant to deal with. They wanted me to visit them in person "right now," literally. Oakland offered to "beat" the lowest price, but when I asked them for the total and itemize it, they added the freight charge again, whereas the other dealers already included the freight charge. Serramonte was the best, in my experience, and that's where I purchased my 2008 TL the next day.

I contacted Rizza Acura, talked to the general Manager himself, they do have a 2008 Type S with Special Chrome Wheels and some type of All Season Tires.

This car has FIVE THOUSAND MILES on it however.....and they are NOT willing to adjust price for the 5000 Miles that they have put on it. They're giving me Invoice Minus 3500 Rebate, but ADD $2500 for the Rims and Tires.

I researched into how much those Chrome Wheels and Tires are going for if you buy them seperately and it is somewhere near $2000 Max, not $2500. Also, they are not not willing to give up any of the dealer holdback. I guess it might be a great deal for someone who really wants a Type S really badly, but not for me.

What do you guys think?

I suspect you talked to Dale, I made my deal with Chuck over the internet. I would not pay $2500+ plus for 19" wheels as the std ones are great and they will wear quicker and cost more money to replace.

I had a good experience at Rizza but at that time the "S" were generally easy to get. I was happy with my deal as I got it out the door for about 2K less than MSRP (that included all taxes, title, and other minor costs).

They apparently have quite a few TLs/with Nav. Maybe you can get a better deal on one of those. Don't forget your not buying a 20K car so the dealer is expecting to make a few more $ as they are not as a high volume vehicle. I could not get an indication what % of TLs are S but I suspect they are a bit scarce.

Hope something works out for you.

Thanks for your sharing. Then I don't need to drive 50+ miles to Marin Acura to deal the pricing this weekend, I can check with Las Gatos first, similar quotaion but much closer.

Same here in St. Louis. What's up with these Acura salesman. They pulled a bait and switch with us too. I was quoted Base TL $28,900 price via internet. Told him no spoiler. Arrive at their "upscale" showroom and the salesman tells me he made a mistake. The only one left came with a rear spoiler for an extra $750. When I told him to take it off, he claimed he could not remove it. I said leave the spoiler but I want Michelins put on the car instead of the shitty OEM's. He said no.
I returned later that day but the guy left for the day. When I couldnt find the car, another salesman told me it was the guys demo that he drives back and forth to work. If this is the way Acura does business maybe GM will survive.

I actually got that a little bit from the Concord dealer. I had a price that I wanted to be matched/beat, and the person I spoke to at first said to come in and they would be confident to beat the price. When I probed a little more via email to get something a little more concrete before I came in, they emailed back to say that there's no way they can beat that price.

I contacted Marin also. To their credit, they said right off the bat they couldn't match the price. At least they didn't try to do a bait/switch on me.

The person at Los Gatos that I spoke to seemed pretty nice, but I didn't really deal with them enough to form a strong opinion.

When I ask dealers to beat prices, I'll usually ask them to beat the OTD price, just so that it's easier to compare.

What kind of prices are you seeing? I just bought a TL a couple of weeks ago, and I'm curious to see if prices are dropping at all now that it's near the end of the year

Alright... I need some help in deciding between these two:

My two choices:
1. 2008 TL w/ Nav: 29,800K (plus Tax+Title+doc fee) with 0.9%
2. 2008 RL w/ Nav: 41K (plus Tax+Title+doc fee) with 6% (Special Financing Expired)

I would go for the 08 TL since you get the best bang for the buck. If I'm going to spend 41K, then I would go for the 09 TL with all wheel drive and tech package.

IMHO, it's better to not restrict yourself to only 2 choices. Your in the driver seat these days when it comes to negotiating a vehicle. Personally, I would never put up that kind of money for a any vehicle with 48k miles.
I have been considering the TL as well, but the two Acura dealers in St. Louis must be suffering from recession denial. I got the same quote for a 2008 TL w/o NAV.
The Infiniti dealer offered a huge discount on a 2008, but the Infiniti's mpg is low.

Hi Louking, I'm confused... not sure where you're getting the 48,000 Miles from. .
