I think they had it at .9 or something for a bit and had 2.9 on other models, and then it went away, and it came back on Saturday morning. So they are accurate on the 2.9 just starting back up. Again, at least in our region. |

I know this is the price forum but was curious to know if any TL owners tried one of those shady looking computer chips from eBay? They are dirt cheap, and about 5 sellers all have some negative feedback, but also lots of positive feedback. Can't see how a simple resistor could give all of these gains. Here is a simple one: Chip Here is one that has multiple settings: Chip 2 Anyone try one of these on their new TL's? I would be afraid to be the first to try it out, but am curious if any other daring souls have. Looks like a hoax chip to me... |

I wrote a post to the TSX form a few years ago when I was buying my wife’s TSX. The title was “Lying, Cheating and Stealing”. Basically, I was purchasing in the DFW area and got several quotes from local dealers. The first gave me a quote but would not honor it when I got there (Lying); the second quoted me a price, but then said the quote did not include destination, or options (Cheating). The third, Vandergriff in Arlington, gave me a great quote, got the car in the color she wanted from Kansas, and I spent less then 1 hr in the dealership picking it up. (Stole it from them) I have purchased many Honda and Acura cars over the years, but am still amazed at the tricks they try to play. I guess that I feel they are good cars and the dealers should be respectful also. I picked up my 2008 TL Type S in CBP/ES this passed weekend in SoCal. I had used this form for research and get ideas on what to pay. It seemed that getting a CBP/ES was going to be difficult. I called 10 to 15 dealers trying to find one that was in stock but had no luck. I knew there was at least one, I got a deal going with CarsDirect and they would have one delivered to my house from the LA area. I did get a call from the Acura dealer in the Car County Carlsbad in San Diego stating that the car I had requested had just come in. After a few emails, they agreed to match the best price I could get from a dealer in LA, and I would not have to drive so far to get it. (Lying) I had to laugh a little. When I told her that the color was wrong, she said, “I think the CBP/ES would clash really bad” I looked at her and said, “The folks at Acura who design cars for a living don’t think so”. Then she claimed that I had requested the CBP/Taupe; but she had already confirmed in email that she understood. “I know you have a busy schedule, but I just want to stay in touch and say that I have not forgotten about your interest in a new 2008 Acura TL TypeS (carbon bronze/Ebony-silver interior). Please keep me informed when the time is right for you to take a closer look. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you. Best regards,” I was nice to her even though it was a major inconvenience and just started walking out. She followed and kept asking what dealer was going to give me the price we had discussed. I just said one in LA. She was not happy, and rudely stated that I bet they don’t have what I wanted and I should give a deposit to ensure they would meet the deal. I then got a call from a dealer in Temecula. (Cheating) They stated they had the car I wanted, and I asked for a quote. They sent me a quote that was “A special Quote just for me” It seemed ridiculously low. It should have been. In the fine print, way at the bottom, it said this quote was for a 2006 TL. Not even close. So after just a few weeks of looking for a deal that was lower then the CarsDirect price in my back pocket, I had settled on getting the car from the dealer in LA. I didn’t get a super great deal, but didn’t have to haggle for it either; they passed the 2K under invoice on to me, including the standard wheel locks and mudguards. They also had to dealer trade for it, something others wouldn’t even try. I got it from Acura of Mission Viejo. The Internet guys were great. Gave me all the info I could have asked for, and worked with my schedule to pick it up. The only part I disliked, was the time I had to spend in the dealership. They had the car and I had the cash, but it still took 2 or so hours to get out of there. Not that they pushed me to buy more stuff, just slow to process paperwork. I have to admit, the CBP and ES looks great. Love the car. Lots of things still to learn. The owners manual is thick.

Hi guys!! Time to pay back!! I just got my 2008 TL Type-S over the Saturday. It is in Cabron Bronze Pearl with Ebony interior. I requested more than 10 quotes from all the dealers in Los Angeles area (far from Torrance South Bay to Tustin OC. Most of the quote I got back were about the same price and only few hundreds dollars difference. The best quote I got was from Metro Acura in Montclair and their price was $32,995 sales price and $36,063.78 out the door price. The OTD price also included $500 gift certificate card that can be applied to service for parts/accessories purchases at Metro Acura. However, I didn't get my car from Metro Acura because of the location. I ended up getting my car at Sierra Acura in Alhambra. They match the same sales price as Metro Acura but they do not offer any gift certificate card. They ended up offer me discount on the body kit (front, side, and read under spoiler kit) at discount cost and also the color match mud guards and wheel locks. The Internet/Fleet sales manager was very professional and nice. He walked me through all the functions of the car and aslo helped me setup my phone to sync with the car while waiting for all the paper works from the financial manager. I drove off the car from the dealer in less than 3 hours. Listed below is the break down of the prices. Sales Price ........................... $32,995 Body Kit .................................$1,000 (included installation and normally cost $1500 for parts and labor) Final Sales Price ....................$33,995 Sales Tax Documentation Fee .................$55 Registration ............................$284 CA Tire Fee ............................$8.75 Out The Door .........................$37,151.88 included (body kit, color match mud guards and wheel locks) Oh!! Also, the production date of my car was on Jan, 2008. =)

Hi everyone Looking for advice from Carman or anyone else about the following deal I concluded on a lease on Saturday for base Acura TL 2008 without Nav 3/30. Posted this on another forum but think this is probably the right site. Sell Price: 30,723.78 (including 1045 customer cash and dealer contrib) MF: .00101 RV: 19,630.80 Tax: 8 % Down: 1260 Monthly payment: 410/month 36months/ 10 K per year. Dealer threw in all weather mats ( a paltry $144 value) Had a 2005 Camry XLE lease I turned in early. Acura dealer paid buyoff of 13,000. I had to pay the difference which was about $720. Was this a good deal? Please advise Thanks |

Hello, Does anyone know if you can combine the 0.9 financing with the 2K incentive? I am in the MA area. Thank you!

I am interested in '08 Type-S. I know the $2K cash is still available...how about any special financing incentives...2.9%, 4.9% or someone indicated they got .9%? Thanks... |
