kkumar, was there a trade or anything else involved in this deal? Does your price include destination? That price is just too low. The dealer would lose money on that deal and car dealers aren't in the business of selling cars at a loss. The invoice on that vehicle is $33,998, which means after the $2,000 incentive it was $1,198 under invoice.

I am also in the market for a TL with Nav. Got a quote for $2700 under invoice from the dealer. The invoice price as per the guy I talked to over the phone was $34248. That would put the price to be $31548 which includes the destination charge.

The price that Kkumar got might be without the destination charge of $715. 31548- 715 = $30833. When i asked if he could do better, he said make an offer and we will see.

There is a thing called Holdback, 3% on Acura if they sell the car within 90 days on the lot. It sounds that he dug into the holdback almost taking it away entirely. There also are volume dealers that move more vehicles and so are willing to make less plus i beleive the manufacturers also cut them a break on cost as well. Just my 2 cents..

$30,800 includes destination charge of $715. Initial quote I got was for $31,248 and I negotiated from that price. They might have lowered the price because of year end as I purchased it on Dec,24.

FYI, TL I bought was not even cleaned at that time, sales guy had to remove all covering before delivering it to me and I had to go another day to get a detailed cleaning.

Here is what I paid

Base price $30,800
Doc Fee $55.00
Sales tax $2,545.00
Optional DMV Electronic Filing fee $28.00
Registration,License fee $273

I bought a new 2008 TL non navi for 31255 OTD. Thats about 28600 before tax and stuff. My tax rate is 8.25% I got it from Power Acura South Bay. The dealer at Cerritos auto squared said he was willing to beat the price, but won't tell me how much over the phone. I didn't bother to goto Cerritos auto square because the salesperson left me a bad impression over the phone. So you might be able to get cheaper if you tried. This is in Southern California.

There are only 2 dealers in Pgh. Baierl and Smail.
I was at Baierl yesterday and absolutely fell in love with an 08 TL non nav. Still cant afford it as they would only give me 16K for my 07 Camry trade in.
I NEED THIS CAR

Good luck on the new TL, its an awesome car and in a year or so {anyone wanna buy an 07 Camry? } I will have one.
If you go to Baeirl, ask for Marybeth

There is also Spitzer Acura in McMurray, and if you don't mind a bit of a drive you can check out Boardman Acura in Ohio (you pay sales tax when you register the vehicle in PA). I haven't tried either of these but I may be giving them a try.

2008 TL with Nav by screnchez

As part of testing a number of entry level sport sedans, I test drove this vehicle today. Dealer is Acura of Denville, NJ. I told the salesman I am still shopping, he laid out his numbers without me asking for one:

Invoice: 33,998
MSRP: 36,940 (incl dest.)
his selling price: 32,650 (before TTL, etc)

This includes the curr factory-to-dealer $2000 incentive (so he said, looks about right)

His selling price is lower than Edmunds' TMV of $34,364. I thought TMV included incentives, maybe not?. Regardless, I think there is some bargaining room even with his sellng price. Do you think so too?

Thanks,
Scren Chez

Welcome aboard!
For some reason Edmund's does not show the factory to dealer incentive on this vehicle. Even though I have seen some reports of sun $32k for this car, I am not sure how often that happens, but you should definately be able to get it for $32k plus TTL. (I had the trunk trtay, splash guards and the wheel locks also included in that price, northern ca).

parviz,

Thanks for verifying the incentive is not showing on Edmunds for this car. The '08 TL w/ Nav is on the short list of vehicles deserving a more comprehensive test drive soon.
