$13,000 for a 2000 TL by s4given

Thought I'd let you all know. After reading these posts (THANKS GUYS & GALS) and doing a lot of checking, I ended up today with a 2000 TL, with Navigation. There are almost 75,000 on the odometer, which I'm a little concerned about.

It seems she's been babied. Hardly a scratch on her. Obviously garaged. Barely any outward signs of wear.

QUESTION - With 75K on the odometer, should I be expecting some major repair bills in the near future. The TL has received many high ratings for reliability, but you guys know best.

04 TL Automatic with Navigation through Performance Auto in Chapel Hill through their internet sales department. Good experience and best price in NC that I could find.

Price - $33,995
Doc Fee - $298
Tax - $1019
Title/Tag - $61
TOTAL - $35,373

Everyone else in NC was offering MSRP or around $34,800 with negotiating, so I feel good about this deal.

Got the same deal, same price, except I got it with 6-speed instead of Auto. your right, is a very good price especially since none of the dealers around here can keep Nav units on the lot. btw, I did the internet deal too through them also because I was in Iraq. btw, I pick up on Monday

Honda Value Pricing by bodble2

I have just been told by a reliable source that Honda is implementing Value Pricing. They have started in Western Canada and eventually will be implemented throughout the rest of Canada. (I'm not sure about the US). Basically it works like Toyota's Access Pricing -- no haggle pricing. The only difference is that the dealers can give a 1% discount either as straight cash discount (min. $350) or credit on accessories. My Acura saleslady did allude to this $350 although the accessories that we agreed on totalled almost $1000. Perhaps internally they would account for the difference to the trade-in allowance. Apparently this Value Pricing will be enforced by Honda, with violators penalized in the form of reduced car allocations.

Has anyone else in Western Canada been told by their dealer about this?

Sounds like a great idea - I absolutely hate the car sales process/games that you have to play. It is a waste of my time and everyone who works at the dealership. As long as it is fair to everyone - it is a great idea. I can see how a Honda and a Toyota may have an advantage over some others in the car game with a strategy like this as there is sufficient demand for their product based on the merit of the product itself. It may be tough for others to follow who are overly relient on the deal of the week to sell their vehicles.

Can you imagine Ford or GM trying no-haggle pricing?!

Confirmed the deal today - Abyss Blue/Ebony - base auto, $1,200 discount from MSRP plus no admin fee ($190). Pick it up on tuesday! Decided that the extra $4,140 Cdn effective price difference for navi was not worth it especially with no bluetooth service now or in the near future that I was able to confirm with Bell Mobility. Other pricing as an FYI - $1500 off of MSRP on in-stock 6MT's, $1,000 off of in-stock navi, $750 off navi that would have to be ordered or traded with another dealer.

Congrats! So that was an in-stock car? Was that straight cash discount or credit against accessories?
