2006 3.2 6MT w/Navi
MSRP 35,325
Dest 670

Invoice 32,205
Dest 670
Dealer Incentive - scour the net for current number
Holdback 1060

Start at invoice plus dest minus incentive and holdback and work from there. Most buyers were paying $100 - $600 above that number for these "old" models.

I'm in the market for the TL with nav and I hope to buy one by the end of this month. Has anyone purchased the extended warranty? Is it worth it? What about Low Jack?
Thanks!

I've been researching TL base with navi for 2 months now, and the lowest price i've seen is invoice price + TTL.
I'm waiting for a low apr deal, and looking at price of approximately $34,500 OTD. I think that is reasonable price?

I got the 8 year/120k mile AcuraCare Warranty for $1,515 which is $100 over the actual cost. I just reminded them that they can either make a small profit or lose the opportunity. They didn't hesitate because I didn't back down. The original price they quoted me was around $2,300. I got the TL w/Nav for $33,400 + TTL. Out the door was $35,109 before the warranty. Deals are out there but you have to be patient and look at several dealerships. I had to travel 90 miles to get the deal.

I bought my TL in 06 and did not get an extended warranty. I think the TL is quite reliable and the few miles I put on it in a year (about 5 to 6k) do not justify the extra expense. If you frequently drive or park in a high crime area and don't have a garage, you should think about having Low Jack. It will also reduce your theft insurance premium.

With the Nav system screen running the air conditioning and the audio system, one failure to any of those could cost over $2,000 to repair. I'm unwilling to take a chance on that especially when you think about what the Nav system will cost to replace in 5 years. I know they are dependable cars but the electronics are very expensive and prone to eventually fail. Even a screen that becomes de-sensitized to the touch would be covered. It just gives me some peace of mind.

Your nav screen can control the AC? Are we talking about the same car? The nav screen does control some of the audio system's functions, but so do the remote button controls on the steering wheel, the audio buttons on the center stack, the voice recognition system, as well as the audio info display above the nav screen. So, even if the nav screen fails, you can still operate and control your AC and audio system independently.

I agree with you that electronics can get finicky, but so do many mechanical components, and as I said, the TL has a good history and reputation for being reliable. The standard warranty is 4 yrs/50k miles, and the extended warranty typically costs in excess of $1.5k. Depending on your tolerance for risk, the extended warranty does give you more peace of mind, but it has to be bought upfront, at a not-so-nominal cost. For those of us who intend to keep the car for a long time, an extended warranty may well be worth it. For me, I usually get a new car in 4 years, and let my wife drive my old car (usually with less than 25k miles) for a few more years. Since my wife is not tech savvy and does not care much about luxury items - she does not even listen to CD or use the heated seats or sun roof - the myriad of electronics in the TL will likely be uselss to her or appeal to her senses, other than the BT handsfree phone, which she finds practical and user friendly.

I am wondering about some of these prices. I have been working on a TL deal with Navi for a couple of weeks now and I don't see anything close to these numbers listed on here. I have worked a 100 mile radius of my town. I am getting ready to fax some offers today. Most everyone I have talked to has wanted from $1500 to $2000 over invoice and then add dealer fees tax and lic. I offered one dealer $34,700 + tax for a 07 with Navi and he won't even return my calls.
