Can you tell me the name of the dealer and the location that offered that price? My wife likes the Passat wagon and that would be an awesome deal at that price.

Prestige VW in Turnersville, NJ. The Passat I mentioned was a demo with 4500 miles on it. That may account for the lwer price.

when I got quotes a couple times in the summer.

Tustin Acura always seemed to be lower than everyone. Weir Canyon even admitted to me that they dont understand how Tustin can go that low.

I didnt try the Mission Viejo dealer..but south coast and weir canyon prices were about the same and still way behind tustin acura. This was on 2006 models of course

I would HIGHLY recommend selling your Saab privately rather than take any trade-in number you receive. I received a $7K trade in offer for my 2001 Volvo S60 from the dealer I ended up buying my 06 TL from. He mentioned I should go to Carmax and get an offer from them, which I did. The $7500 offer from Carmax still seemed VERY low to me. I was hoping to receive $9K in order to do the deal.

My wife and I decided to try selling it on our own, which we had never done before. We spent ~$200 on full interior and exterior detailing to bring the car to best possible condition and it made a huge difference. We Listed it for $11,300 on cars.com and received several full price offers within a week. We noticed that 4-6 year old luxury cars that are well-maintained are in high demand.

A twist: I actually made a deal with my wife before we decided to sell the car that if she would take responsibility for selling the car--listing, photos, phone calls, negotiations, etc.--she could keep any amount above $9200 (my hoped-for trade value and the $200 for detailing). Needless to say, she is still trying to figure out ways to rub in the $2100 she just made!

I asked around and everybody is sticking to MSRP. I so far talked to 3 dealers (Tustin, Weir, Cerritos). I'm hoping that as they get more cars in stock they will be willing to go lower. I don't understand how other people out there are getting $1k over invoice.

Good experience at the same place. They even remembered your purchase. I paid slightly more, only $300, but was very happy with the deal and the treatment. Pohanka is a pretty good dealer
