5.9% for 5 years, which I think is good, but I was going for the 4.9% for 5 years. The total difference over 5 years is about $800 bucks. I'm fine with them picking the lowest one, it's just that my Experian score should have been 713, and not 685. I've been trying to find a way to speak to an actual person at Experian, to ask them what was the score that they supplied to Honda Financing, but that seems impossible.

You know that was the case with me too. They ran mine and my wife's and the score were lower than we thought. They were lower by about 15-20 points. This of course put me in the 5.9% bracket too. I was told that we were 3 points away and were told that Honda credit won't budge. It sounds suspicious if this is happening to other people. Because I know my credit score is 715 according to Transunion and Experian.

What can be done?

Hey, 5.9 isn't too bad. Where are you? Are you in one of those states where they are still offering 4.9% (I think it's only 17 states) and they are telling you you can only get 5.9? The lowest I could find now is 5.99% through my insurance company (USAA) after my own bank today tried to pull 8.25%!! So I'm not sure in the private sector, you'll get better than 5.9 unless they are offering incentives through the dealership or you have a friend in the banking business. You could use the 5.9 from them to bargain down with local banks/credit unions... it never hurts to ask!!

Salesperson Trouble by caltman

Hey everyone. I started dealing with a salesperson in MN here yesterday on a 2006 TL 5AT w/Navi. We talked twice during the day and agreed on a price. I got this person's name from my brother in laws business partner. At about 8:30pm, he calls back and pulls the 'ole "I made a mistake with my number I gave you, it's actually going to be $1000 more." Pretty pathetic, not to mention, it was referral from one of his good friends. I explained to him that he can do it for the price we agreed on to which he replied that they "never" sell cars under invoice... whatever. Within 15 minutes he was down $390 without talking to his sales manager even though 15 minutes earlier he couldn't budge any lower. Furthermore, I have proof they sold the exact same car over a month ago for $350 above what above what we originally agreed on. He said that they never sell cars for that much and that whoever posted it was lying. Anyway, they did, and now what I'm wondering is if any of you ever switch who you are dealing with at the dealerships and start over with someone else. I do have the name of the salesperson who sold the car for the amount posted on the web. Thanks!
