my quotes came from open road of east brunswick and sussman of maple shade. to my knowledge, these dealerships will have the exact same pricing. they are owned by the same people and are in the same general area, so i would imagine that they would honor each other's prices. i am currently looking for an anthracite (6 speed with nav). many dealers in NJ do not have this particular car so i have had to look elsewhere. yea i really do not know about the group buy idea. it could work? maybe someone should send an email off to a few dealers and ask. say somethign to the effect of....."if i brought 2 other people with me on thursday evening and we all bought a new tl, what is your price now? the salesperson would probably start drooling if he/she heard that.

I live in Central NJ and also planning on buying TL on Thursday (Desert Mist or Silver w/o NAV).

My quote from Davis, obviously, didn't include NJ tax. I just talked to them:

29350 * 1.07 = 31405 + 55 doc + 224 registration (not 400!) = 31684.

purchasing on last day of month by mdm309

how much discount do you think i can look to get because i will be purchasing on the last day of this month? assume that my best offer at this point is $31,500. Obviously I am not going to walk in and give them $31,500 without any negotiation. What do you think is a good $$$ amount to offer? If I offer 31,000 and they call me crazy, what is the worst that can happen? I can just go to another dealership on Saturday 9/2 and the prices will be the same $31,500. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

mdm309,

I doubt you'd get a $500 discount for last day, but they may go down 100 or so. Depends on your salesperson also. If they had a good month, it might not be as important to them.

Depending on where you buy, you should be able to knock down the doc fee. That's a total BS fee to begin with and just lets them backload the deal.

Does anyone have a ballpark number for gap insurance? I've been reading that one should buy it when leasing a car. THX!
