Like so many others I wanted to give something back for all the help I received from this forum while shopping for my new TL. This forum was an amazing resource! I just purchased a 2006 Anthracite Metallic w/ Ebony Interior TL 6-speed manual w/o Navi in Milwaukee, WI for $30,900 + TTL. It took some negotiation but delivery was smooth.

Bought new Acura 05 TL in December 2004. Recently found out that left rear quarter panel and left rear door have been repainted. Also, the trunk lid is slightly misaligned. This had to have been done at some time prior to me getting the vehicle and it was never disclosed to me. Went to the dealer and in fairness to them, the car was transferred to them for me. However, they did accept my money and I did business with them. So far, their response is only to offer to pay me a low trade allowance for the car. Nothing extraordinary to me. I think my next step is to go to Acura. What do you guys think? Thanks!

| Just paid $32,889 for TL with Nav Auto Silver ext. and black int. My wife loves it. The pony tail guy (don't want to mention his name for privacy) did charge me $400 for doc fees, but heck I got a very good service and professional demo of the car twice. Plus never felt being cheated as sometimes the case when dealing with car sales guys. I could have ask to lower further, but then I would have always felt there the car being sold to me must have something wrong. Both the pony tail dude and his supervisor, so called internet sales manager, spent an hour yesterday and today going over Acura features. Thus, paying $400 for doc fees I did not feel bad. After all they are there to make few bucks too like us. I do not know how true the hidden $1000 is from manufacturer to dealer that I keep hearing. Even if it is true I doubt the sales guys are getting anything. Probably going under dealer's pocket. Your call! Acura Carland on Satellite blvd and Old Norcross rd. | |

| Here is the rest of the post! I know that this price is probably average in the northeast but this is pretty good down here in Florida. Oh, and NO additional dealer fees (except those required by state/local law), just tag/tax. I worked exclusively with the internet guy and never visited the dealership in person or got a floor salesman involved. My offer was rejected in the middle of the month but was accepted on the last day of March. Always check back on the last day of the month and be ready to take delivery that day. Avoid hard sell dealer add-ons like warranties which pay up to 40% comission (or more). If you are leasing through American Honda Finance they get a big commission anyway. Expect a lot of grief about how little they are making on the car, etc. Holdback is 3% plus any dealer incentive on the vehicle in effect at that time plus monthly sales bonuses for the dealership - so don't fall for it. Since some dealers value margin over volume, this strategy may not work at you closest dealer. Do your homework. | |
