I have a counteroffer of 33,600 including TTL for a 2006 w/o Nav. Is this good? Or should I hold out?

Your logic is good except if the TL owner keeps his car for, say, 10 years, not 3-5. In that case, the used price difference between the '05 and '06 will be much less than $1,700. So, one's decision to buy a leftover '05 or an '06 depends primarily on how long you intend to keep the car. Some people know, but as it's impossible to predict the future--who knows what lies ahead--it's pretty much of a crap shoot.

The price you quote, $33,600 for an '06 non-NAVI, is all of $335 under sticker. You can do a lot better than that.

The 33,600 was OTD.

if you can get the TL under msrp for the 06, its a better buy... for obvious reasons (newer car, and the tire pressure monitor). Just like bartalk3 said, you never know whats gonna happen in the future, i had an 04 infiniti FX35 and sold it cause of lots of electrical problems and horrrible infiniti service and originially i had purchased that car with a 5 year finance intending to own it for at least 7 years... you just never know. I have a question though, it seems like the TL is the only Acura model thats built in the US... not to put down american made vehicles, but id never buy a ford or chevy because they are unreliable (and just so happen to be built in the US) what do you think about the TL longterm reliability?

Honda Accords built here are just as reliable as Accords built in Japan (or at least I've never seen anything to the contrary). Same for Toyota Camrys. I don't think the fact that the TL is built here, on the same line as the Accord in Ohio, has any bearing on its reliability.

Not true. I have an American built 1995 Chevy S10 V6 with 175,000+ miles on it that still purrs like a kitten. Probably put all of $500 into it over/above regular maintenance items (oil, tires, serpentine, batteries). Damn good truck. Most vehicles will last and perform for you as long as you takecareofem.
How's that Infiniti again? Is that American made?
Looking for an 06 TL in my garage soon. If it holds up as good as the truck I'll be happy. The US auto worker has learned a thing or two in the past few years about the car building business. I'd buy American - or I should say American built.

In NC, I believe it is 6%. That is our typical sales tax. I am not sure if it is different for motor vehicles.
