As is often noted"in the spirit of Delmar", I want to relay my buying experience. I live in Alabama and have very few Acura dealers(read no competition). After scouring this website and others, I searched countrywide for a "06 6 speed w/navi.
Getting internet quotes were important to the negotiation process. In short, I discovered that 3 of the 4 largest Acura dealers in the country were located in the Washington DC metro area. Pohanka,Radley and Rosenthal. All better pricing than I was offered locally or for that matter from Acura in Washington state. Radley was cheaper and more professional than the other two. Pohanka badmouthed Radley saying they would not give you the price quoted when you got there and Rosenthal basically said they would not match pricing, especially on "06. The deal: 34,000 protection package included. 245 processing fee. TTL . That's it. Very professional internet sales manager. Full tank of gas and I was on my way home. Fairly painless process

$34,000 is a good price, but I'm confused! Do I understand correctly, you live in Alabama and traveled to Washington D.C. to buy the TL? And what does Washington state have to do with this? Would you have gone that far?

Yes, I live in Alabama. Got quotes from around the country. Cost me $71.00 to fly to DC. 5 hours from the Birmingham airport and I was driving my car home. I didn't think that was a big sacrifice. Saved $1000+ from local dealership price, got the car I wanted. I guess I got upset with the "take it or leave it" attitudes I was hearing from some dealers( including Washington state). It was a GREAT ride home listening to XM radio over surround sound audio system.

I say right on...that's the kind of thing I'm looking for. Here in Utah, I have got the same "take it or leave it" attitude so I'm searching the Midwest/ West for the best deal and I will travel to save some $$$$ and stick it to the local dealers....it's principle now.

...... Sounds like a good deal ... that said, you could have cut that deal anywhere between Birmingham, Atlanta and Orlando -it's a handshaker ... and 97% of the market is lookin' for auto's ... dealers will always look for a quick sale for a 6-speed if they have one in stock in that area .....

your other option is to sell it in a private sale. I'm looking for an 04 or 05 and would pay $26K for a car in good shape. I'm in Atlanta, Ga,

My dealer is in Oregon. He told me he is giving me this price because he couldn't find an '05 at the price I wanted to pay.

Yeah I noticed 05 supply and choices are getting low also. I went by Gillman Acura last night late and just walked the lot they still had quite a few 2005 models there. The dealer that gave $32800..........does that include destination or is it $32800 plus destination? I also noticed that Gillman had splash guards and wheel locks on all their TL's. They seem very professional so far in their dealings with me, but last night after dinner I just wanted to check out what they had available. I may pull the trigger on an 05.......what to do?
