Replying to: ilove70 (Oct 19, 2005 8:25 pm) Keep in mind, you don't owe the dealer for the car loan, you owe the bank... You can't simply return it to the dealer.. The bank still wants their money.. If the dealer will only give you $25K for the car, how are you going to come up with the other $8K, to pay off the bank? If you don't have the money, the only thing the car dealer can do, is take it in trade on a cheaper car... But, the cheapest car at the Acura dealer is around $20K.. roll in the extra $8K you owe, and you'll have a $28K loan on that $20K car... that won't save you much money.. In other words, I don't think the dealer will be "helping" you much.. Many times the best solution to being overextended, is to increase your income, rather than cut your expenses... this would be one of those times.. Either that, or cut back on other expenses..... regards, kyfdx Host-Prices Paid Forums |

First, you're still "upside down" with your car. 2nd, you're just extending a bad financial situation into a worse situation. The obvious question.....why can you no longer afford the car? |

Greetings all.......I just discovered these forums and what a wonderful source of information. I have just started my search for a new 2006 Acura TL and I am somewhat disappointed in the price quotes I have received. The dealers in my area (Houston) do not seem to be discounting very much. I even had one dealer that quoted me full list price!! After reading what others are paying for 2006's should I be able to get a deal worked for invoice price or mayber $500 over? Any help or input from other buyesr's in the Houston area would be helpful. We only have 4 local dealers and I have shopped 3 out of 4.......One has not given me the quote yet, just tells me to get the best price and they will beat it? Any help would be appreciated!! KJ |

Honestly, though, I doubt you'd get near invoice on the brand new, just arrived, 2006 TL's. The 2 individuals on the board listing $1k or $500 over invoice are very unusual for '06. The great deals on the board are mainly for the outgoing 2005 models. Can't hurt to try though, so keep looking, and expand your search to Dallas and Austin (not too far to drive if you can save thousands). Good luck. |

I have a 2006 Silver/Ebony auto with nav coming. $34,020.00, that's $1,920.00 off MSRP ($1,200.00 over invoice). It will be here in about 10 days and I'm excited! I'm buying it from Fresno Acura, Fresno, CA |
