I said I would come out on Monday afternoon and look at it. Before I did, I went back to see the manager of Chevy Chase Acura, because it seemed they had a larger inventory (guess why) that Rosenthal. I asked the manager if e had a 2005 that would suit me and that I was willing to pay $33K for it, total cost. He said that was ridiculous and turned back to what he was doing. The salesman at Rosenthal took me to the lot to show me the gold car with automatic. I said I was still interested in the black exterior stick. (I had convinced the wife that with the parchment interior, the black exterior would look great and she relented, she just didnt want black in and out). I decided at that point that i didnt love the gold, especially after the salesman said that the guy who turned it back had decided HE didn't like the color. A few moments later I had bought the car at the price I had in mind all along. The guys at Rosenthal couldn't have been any nicer, I never felt they were playing any games, and they seemed motivated to sell cars. I understood now why they had no 2005 cars and Chevy Chase had many. And that, as they say, is the rest of the story. |

| Been in the market for about a week looking at the 05 w/o Navi....Seems like the lowest I can get is 30,800 - the invoice......They started out at $31,400 until I pit 2 of the dealerships against each other. One said the lowest they'd go is $31K, the other one came in at $30,800. I'm looking to pull the trigger this weekend. Do you think this is a fair price considering the 06s are rolling in now. This site has been great and I thinks its a fair price but just wanted to make sure before I did the deal..... Thanks | |

Replying to: ilove70 (Oct 19, 2005 9:25 pm) Keep in mind, you don't owe the dealer for the car loan, you owe the bank... You can't simply return it to the dealer.. The bank still wants their money.. If the dealer will only give you $25K for the car, how are you going to come up with the other $8K, to pay off the bank? If you don't have the money, the only thing the car dealer can do, is take it in trade on a cheaper car... But, the cheapest car at the Acura dealer is around $20K.. roll in the extra $8K you owe, and you'll have a $28K loan on that $20K car... that won't save you much money.. In other words, I don't think the dealer will be "helping" you much.. Many times the best solution to being overextended, is to increase your income, rather than cut your expenses... this would be one of those times.. Either that, or cut back on other expenses..... regards, kyfdx Host-Prices Paid Forums |

First, you're still "upside down" with your car. 2nd, you're just extending a bad financial situation into a worse situation. The obvious question.....why can you no longer afford the car? |

Greetings all.......I just discovered these forums and what a wonderful source of information. I have just started my search for a new 2006 Acura TL and I am somewhat disappointed in the price quotes I have received. The dealers in my area (Houston) do not seem to be discounting very much. I even had one dealer that quoted me full list price!! After reading what others are paying for 2006's should I be able to get a deal worked for invoice price or mayber $500 over? Any help or input from other buyesr's in the Houston area would be helpful. We only have 4 local dealers and I have shopped 3 out of 4.......One has not given me the quote yet, just tells me to get the best price and they will beat it? Any help would be appreciated!! KJ |
