Replying to: graffixx (Aug 29, 2005 11:55 pm) When I sent out my request for quote, they said that they would meet or beat the price on the car I wanted or give me $500. Well, they didn't have the car I wanted, but I told their internet guy that I would wait for one to come in if he could meet or beat the price since they were closer to where I live. He said he couldn't beat the offer I was getting for Keyes and said that there was no way Keyes could sell it to me at that price because they would be losing money, and that he as an honest salesman would sell it to me over invoice and make sure that I was well taken care of. What a bunch of crap. Unfortunately, most of the conversations that prove that I said that I would wait and that they could not meet the price I got from Keyes, happened over the phone, so I do not have any more e-mail proof. But, 2 weeks later and this is the reply that I get about their price guarantee: Since you were unwilling to wait for one to come in--and you did not put a deposit down on one--that voided our price guarantee. Our guarantee was on units we had in stock and we have only had a few TL's with Navi over the last few months. Regardless of whether or not I said I would wait for one to come in, their orginal e-mail about their price guarantee says nothing about the unit having to be in stock..and that I can prove. Whoever it was who was complaining about car salesman being called unethical should take a look at a prime example of why people think this sort of thing. I realize that you are not all this way (since I actually had a good experince at Keyes, where I got my TL) so I will not generalize, but you have to at least realize why people think this. |

Replying to: delmar1 (Aug 30, 2005 7:54 am) you are correct. I am your neighbor to the south I think. Anyways, I agree that graffixx should price around the entire area. For whatever reason (?large volumes) it seems like the Santa Monica dealership and the Van Nuys dealerships are offerring >$1000 off invoice with mud guards and tire locks but excluding trunk liner I think. SD market is horrible! Cheapest quoted rates were actually >$2000 over the LA market. I'll give a list of all my quotes (about 10 dealreships) if and when I can close my deal. I was fortunate to stumble across this forum and in doing so probably saved myself over $1000. Thanks all.

Replying to: utc2 (Aug 30, 2005 8:38 am) Remember folks...you can buy your cars from a distance and have your cars serviced at any Acura dealership. They will gladly accept your business...and I find that they are especially nice to retain your business from the place of purchase. I figured you were in San Diego with the signon of 'UTC'. Yes... I'm in Del Mar Calif. As for JBDriver's experience with the price guarantee with Weir Canyon. When I was working on my deal in June...I didn't feel comfortable with the working relationship I had with Wier and discontinued discussions. They didn't seem forthcoming and unworthy of consideration. ????Question for you all. Today is Aug 30th. Is it still considered 'last week' of the month (when typcially better deals occur) or did it end this past weekend...or this coming weekend? Does anybody know what is considered the commission cutoffs?

Replying to: delmar1 (Aug 30, 2005 7:54 am) South Coast Acura: $32,895 Glendale Acura: $32,355 but would match lowest price Weir Canyon: $32,830 (said he would also match lowest price) Sierra Acua in Alhambra: $32,555 Downey: $33,955 (see warning a few days ago about Downey) Norm Reeves: $33,200 Acura 101: $31,900 Santa Monica: $31,599 Keyes: Never gave a price, but said they would meet my lowest, and did, which was $31,599 including the pro. package. They also threw in the 100,000 mile warranty at almost no cost to me. All in all, I was satisfied with Keyes. They were really the only ones with the car I wanted (manual trans with nav in Anthracite and hi performance tires), and gave it me at the best price, no questions asked. I have to go back because there was a part that needed to be fixed, and they will give me a rental for three days, no problems. If anyone is looking, I would recommend Keyes. Not only is it the end of the model year, they are moving across the street and need to sell their cars, and are more than willing to match prices with extras. Thanks again to everyone on this board for all of their tremendous help....now if I could only find someone to help me with me newly acquired lead foot...

Thank you to everyone here for your help. I've been mostly just lurking here for a month or two. I am picking up my new auto TL w/nav tomorrow and I just wanted to make sure everyone knew Acura has 2.9 for 24-36mths, 3.9 for 37-48mths and 4.9 for 49-60mths, starting tomorrow through 9/6. I'm paying $32,995 in upstate NY. I'll post more details and other quotes I got tomorrow after I get the car. Tim
