Regarding if there is a bias between cash and finance buyers. I have paid cash for all my cars and this is how I deal with it.

My deals are discussed in isolated components. I discuss the pricing of my trade-in as well as my new car purchase separately...as well as financing. When they ask how will I pay for the car...I indicate that I am considering various avenues and that I wish to discuss pricing alone. Financing can be discussed separately.

Work the deal out..then at that point indicate you are a cash buyer.

Sorry if you had a bad experience NIKKI. I like to speak well of them, because I feel I was very well taken care of. And pricewise, The three San Diego dealers couldn't come within $1500, and the next best LA dealer was $600 more (Tustin).....

I wouldn't consider I had a bad experience. What I was pointing out is that the price you indicated is comparable to many Acura dealers in the general LA area. You just happen to quote one of many. The reason is probably because of more Acura dealers in the area compared to many other regions. So consider other LA dealers.

When I say LA dealers, I do not consider San Diego LA. I am referring to others like Downey, Keyes, Pasadena, South Bay Torrance, Santa Monica, Weir Canyon, etc.

I live in LA, sounds like you live in San Diego. I didn't know that San Diego dealers would charge $1500 more.

I am sure you got a good deal, but the price you received is similar to others in the region. And maybe it was at the time you purchased your car it was different (when did you purchase your car? Recently?) As you can see, many in the LA area, and you just indicated one.

Hello ace_pilot:

Sorry for the delayed response but I've been out enjoying my TL !!! I don't believe we are supposed to mention names on this site so I will simply say that the Internet Salesman that I dealt with is still there and I believe he is the only one that they have After reading some other posts, it seems as if dealers are more reluctant to offer super deals. I would say that my deal fell in that category ($32,000 b/4 t&t). I don't know if that is due to high demand low availability or what. I would think that they would be anxious to get rid of the 05's in order to make room for the 06's. At this point, if you can wait until the 06's arrive, it may be in your best interests. Perhaps then, the flexibility on pricing will return for the 05's. However, the flip side to that is availability of the exact car you want.

Best wishes............. and don't give up on our Internet friend

hi, i got an internet quote for like 32700 and i need to lower it to 32000. Is it best to reply to an email saying i want this TL for 32000 or should i just go to a dealer? I'll be buying this either this week or next week.
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

send them an email back and tell them all you have to spend is 32000...and you will be buying next week....don't think they will go for it...but the worst they can say is no right?
Most people think you can't make a counter offer on an internet price...and that is not true...in fact since it is getting close to the end of July you may get what you want...assuming they have the color you want right?

Plus I am assuming we are talking about the TL with navi right?
Without navi you should be able to get one for $30,500 or cheaper...
Good Luck!!

Wait until the end of the month, they are much more willing to deal. After I bought a TL, 2 dealers called me at the end of the next month.

Just got a quote for $31734 for an 05TL w/o NAV in MA. Do you think I can do
better. Don't they need to get rid of these 05's? Would waiting till the end
of the month help?

The $31.7k is way too high for a non-nav. I say $30.5k and below is the target.

Will it help to wait until the end of month? Yes....but during the wait...start a dialogue with other Acura dealers.
