Paid $31,500 + 750 for doc and title fees for an 2005 TL in Charlotte NC, you could go lower if you want, so you can pay for the $475 GAP insurance, which I think is important on new cars. took me 3 minutes to program the bluetooth and hands free link and its amazing, the stereo is great also, going from a BMW 540i with 312 lbs/feet of torque to 238 lbs/ft of torque was hard but the BMW was not as high tech as the TL and is painfully costly to maintain. Just love this car, amazing overall. VT of CLT

Hi All, What are the cons of buying from out of local area dealership? I am in MA but willing to travel and buy from dealers in NY/NJ since I've seen postings on this forum from members getting very good deals in that area. But somewhat apprehensive because what if you have to go back to a dealership? Or shall I just stay local? Appreciate any comments and advice on my dilemma.

Replying to: xdc (May 31, 2005 4:18 pm) I got my TL from Glendale Acura. I negotiated the price with the Internet & Fleet manager on-line and scheduled an appointment with her to drive in and choose the color. It was very professional and cordial.

Replying to: mink760 (May 31, 2005 9:09 pm) Thank you very much! Sounds to me you got a good deal. I walked in Acura at Escondido yesterday. I looked for a TL w/ Navi, the negotiation started from $2500 (protection package incl.) above invoice and then $1800 (I still need to pay $300 for the protection package). I insisted that it is way beyond my expectation. After one more round of bargaining, the price was still $600 higher than yours (plus $2000 for the navi) but the talk became more difficult. I asked to leave. I did feel that there is a lit bit more room to bring the price down further. Again, thank you very much and enjoy your new TL. I'll go back to dealer again next week. BTW, 1.9%/36 mo. financial offer expired yesterday in San Diego area. XDC |

Greetings, I’m in the process of considering the purchase of a 05 TL. Best prices in my area are $31.5k no navigation and $33.5k with the navigation. Both of those prices include the protection package. I have a 99 300m, with very low mileage, the best the dealer will do is $9k on the trade. I also tried to sell the 300m and got an offer of $12.5k. I would really appreciate your suggestions, should I go for the TL or not? Part of me feels although the 300m has very low mileage, it is still a 7 year old car. My other thought is keep the 300m; it still has a lot of life. Again, your comments are appreciated, and be kind!

Replying to: levi1 (May 26, 2005 10:11 am) Thanks again! Just a thought, based on my neighbor buying a Honda, last week, too, that there seems to be a trend, that cars are being sold for under invoice, now. I know the car dealers need to and are still making money, but it is making me feel less comfortable, about the "Invoice" price now. Smoke & Mirrors? |

Replying to: mytl (May 31, 2005 4:52 pm) I don't think you have to travel very far to get a good deal on a TL. It seems to me the Boston (forgive the assumption you're from eastern MA) market is very competitive. I bought at the beginning of the year, invoice pricing from both Clair in Walpole and Acura of Boston in Brighton, buying from A of B due to higher trade-in on my 300M. Canuck44: 30,700 is a good deal. Although $500 for "paint sealant" would have been much better spent elsewhere (say ~$80 for Zaino system)... Even so, good deal. Congrats and enjoy your TL!
