I was going to buy a TL until yesterday I saw a Toyota Avalon and thought the new design was great! Plus it's a little cheaper than the TL. Convince me you TL lovers why should I buy a TL and not the Avalon?

First and foremost I really did want the new model, but the reality is I am being "compensated" indirectly. I won't disclose the exact details, but let's just say that I'm earning a commission off of my salesperson. BELIEVE ME, it was just by coincidence, and the fact is I am providing my salesperson a common product whereby I will earn money for the financial service I provide -- about $1,000. dollars more (NET) then what I have to eat on my remaining lease ($1,672). Sooo, I just thought it would nice to reciprocate --yes I do have a self conscious !! Therefore, here is what I am truly looking at without rolling in ($34.83/mo.) -- the average monthly remaining on my current lease: Cap -- $32,500. RV -- 57% MF -- .0024 Pmt. -- $510.65 + 6% sales tax = $541.29 + $34.83 = $576.12 Closing = 1st payment + transfer + doc. prep. + acquisition = $1,300. total out of pocket. Being a financial person myself, I just wanted to know how my base payment compares; apples to apples. Why figuring a lease payment has to be so clandestine with dearlerships is unnerving, and this forum is a great reference. I hope people don't get the wrong impression. I am simply trying to research my offer as my "client" researched me. Hope people understand and I will look forward to the replies !! JRS

Replying to: frisconick (Apr 30, 2005 10:00 am) Having said that, two different mission statements for the Avalon and TL. To (very) loosely summarize: Avalon = Japaneese Buick TL = Japaneese Audi but with mucho power (I was going to say BMW, but that's really Infiniti). For me, no comparison. Nice, bland, cushy family cruiser vs. sharply styled sport sedan. I bought the TL. Disclaimer: I've never driven an Avalon, so my thoughts on the Toyota are simply from what I've seen/read of the car. Gotta do your own due dilligence...
