I've been shopping the internet classifieds for a 2003 TL Type-S and I'm seeing lots of certified Pre-owned and Private sellers. There's typicaly a 2-3K difference in price (private sellers being less expensive of course). What are anyone's throughts on the value of the certified Pre-owned warranty offered by Acura? Is it worth the extra cost?

This is a straight cash sale not a lease and I got a price of $31,500 plus tax and license. I thought that was good. As least as far as this purchase is concerned, I am glad that I do not live in California. I live in Pittsburgh and a few years ago I bought a Lexus in Akron, OH because I was fed up with the local Lexus folks. They did exactly what you said and when I registered the car, I paid the PA sales tax and that was that.   I would bet that you Acura dealer you are considering has done it many times.

I could also get that same deal a Libertyville. McGrath has been super to deal with. I dealt with their internet salesmen. I am itching to pull the trigger this weekend. I've gotten several quotes from Florida dealers for a non-navi for $31,250 incl. destination but they add $500 dealers fee for an out the door price including taxes of $34K. Acura of Orange Park quoted $30,900 plus $500 dealer fees, tax & title for an out the door price of $33463.17. I gave them a deposit.

How have people found it best to try to get new tires? (on non-Nav). Straight trade for Michelins? Extra money? buy on your own (with some compensation) and have dealer mount and balance? or take care to tire shop and trade in with them? thanks.

I received a quote from a dealer and I told him I wanted mats, wheel locks & trunk tray. He replied with a quote including the protection package. Is this the locks, mats & tray?
