Delaware and Surrounding Area Dealers by grumblesdclown

Has anyone recently purchased a new TL (or any other new Acura) from a dealership in Delaware? I'm most interested in comments regarding Castle (New Castle) and Price (Dover). I'd also consider going into Philly, south Jersey, or Baltimore. I bought a 2000 TL at Price. It was a good sales experience but a lot can change in five years.

On that note, what's your opinion of things other than getting the lowest price? For example, many of you know the transmission issue. On other forums, some people tell woesome tales of their dealers. For me, Price dropped off a new TL to my front door; took my car to the shop; inspected it and replaced the valve per Honda's recall; washed/vacuumed it; and returned it to my door the next day at MY convenience. All at no charge to me. I thought that was pretty classy.

I appreciate that level of service but I still want a competitive price. I'm going to email/phone/visit the dealers myself, but I'd love to hear some real world experiences.

Thanks.

I am starting to shop for a TL auto w nav in the San Diego area and was wondering if anyone in SD, Orange Cty, or LA area could tell me what they paid.

Any chance of getting the car for $32.5K-$33K (incl dest. chg)?

According to Consumer Reports, dealer cost is $31,326.

If anyone knows of a dealer anywhere in SoCal who will deal without playing games I would appreciate the information.

Thanks!

05 TL in Illinois at not to bad a price. by xcel

Hi All:

I just received a quote for an 05 TL w/ Auto (non-NAVI) - Abyss Blue w/ Quartz for $30,887 and w/ NAVI for $32,688 from Libertyville Acura here in Illinois. It is for the wife but for those that are price shopping, this was not a bad start for the Chicago area including the recent Honda markup. We had a good experience when purchasing the MDX from them 2 years ago and I hope this purchase will be the same.

      Good Luck

TL w/ nav in Rochester, NY by glevine

Thank you to all involved with this excellent forum. After much research and reading 3 months of postings, we were able to negotiate a silver with black interior TL w/ Nav for $33,800 which included about $1200 worth of dealer installed extras (side molding, lid spoiler and protection package). Also, the new TLs with Nav come with Michelin tires and not the Bridgestones (the salesman told me the non-nav cars still come with the Bridgestones).

It is very difficult here in upstate New York to buy a higher end car because there are only one dealer in town for each brand, including Acura, and therefore the negotiation options are limited. This forum helped us determine what was a fair price.

Although the salesmen did not think this forum was worth anything, I disagree. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.

Thanks,
Gary

Has anyone had any experience with the 3 Acura dealer's in the Atlanta metro area? I am looking to buy a TL '05 auto non-navi. Got a first price quote from Nalley at 32,500 (which seems high) and $31,500 from Baranco. Will be visiting Ed Voyles tomorrow. I have noticed that all of these dealers have a large TL inventory (40+) that have not changed much over the course of February. I was hoping to get this car at or below invoice - does this seem reasonable?
Thanks,
KO

Wayne,

Have you tried McGrath Acura in Westmont? A friend just purchased a TSX from them at invoice, working with the internet manager. I am contemplating trading my Saab for a new TL. Let us know if you pull the trigger.

Hi Needashower:

Thanks for the tip. My Insurance agents husband is a tech at McGrath - Westmont and not only recommend the TL over the Accord EX V6 but said you may as well try them if Acura of Libertyville does not come through with the right deal. I am taking the MDX in tomorrow for a TIV assessment and might head on down to McGrath’s other store on the North side. Pauly has always been a rip any time we have tried to purchase Acura’s or Honda’s so I won’t even bother with them.

      Thanks again
