Is your quote for a 2004 or 2005? Where is Rosenthan & Frankel Acura? I live in Erie, PA, and the best the dealer here will do is $32,000 for a 2005 and I'm not thrilled about that. I think they could do better. They're willing to deal on their last few 2004s down to $30,400, but I don't like the colors/interiors they have left. What do you think?

I dealt with the internet managers but I didn't get those prices right out of the box. It took a lot of negotiating. Believe it or not, there are still some dealers out there who are living in the past and are sticking to the high prices. I particularly got that out of the guy at Pleasanton. On the other hand, the internet manager at Concord and the sales manager at Marin just couldn't have been more anxious to do whatever it took to earn my business. The best part was that they were very courteous and professional at the same time.

Did you deal with all these dealers solely by e-mail? It seems like most of the websites want you to enter your phone number. I'd prefer they give me their quote in writing- then I have something in hand with which to negotiate.

Was your green TL already on the lot during negotiation, and did you get any accessory for that price?

BTW, do you know what kind of deals are they giving to non-Nav now, considering a Nav one can be had for just above $33.5K?

The oil change was 6500, 13600 and expecting the 3rd one probably 19/20k. Not sure why it's different between the 1st and 2nd one. Mine is an auto with 65% city and 35% highway driving pattern.

You don't need to go to a Mobil gas station to get Mobil 1 oil - it is sold at auto parts stores everywhere. With my previous Honda S2000 and current TL, I can bring in Mobil 1 that I buy and they will do the oil change. Both dealers could also provide the Mobil 1, but they will mark it up to $8-9 per quart (I can buy it for $5 per quart).

Mobil 1 is probably no better than some of the other synthetics, but they have managed to get specified as the oil used from the factory by Mercedes, BMW and a number of high end performance cars. They are also a true synthetic, not a blend like some of the others.

I still find it curious that I can only get 4,000 miles out of a 6-speed oil change and the others here get 6,000-8,000 on an automatic. I shift at a "healthy" 4,000 rpms, but I certainly don't redline it at every opportunity.

Honda Finance charges an Acquisition fee on all of their leases.. It goes directly to the bank (Honda Finance) and is not negotiable.. Your dealer has nothing to do with it.. You can add it to the cap cost, rather than pay it upfront, but you can't get rid of it.

Is SC South Carolina, or Southern Cal? $32.9K is great everywhere I guess, but incredible in Cal.
