I don't dislike BMWs at all but you made it sound like one should automatically get a BMW if similar in price. I simply pointed out that some people(especially asking a question on an Acura TL forum) prefer Acura to BMW given equal priice. The problem is a new BMW basic 5 series with automatic trans is $12k more than the TL. So if used prices are similar that kind of tells what the market thinks about longevitiy/resale value.
If my kids want to influence my choice....they can make half the payment. Otherwise they take what they get. I guess I might think differently if I was in the market for a minivan though.

It is a good price. Where did you buy it?

I bought it from Acura of Riverside, Southern CA. It was $3,533 BELOW invoice. The sales tax here in CA is little high (8.25%).

You did well my friend! Enjoy your new ride. That is cheaper than I paid for my 2010 TSX Tech (4cyl) last August.

I am at a standstill in negotiating a new 2010 TL base FWD with spoiler. I have the dealer to $31K + tax tag title. Seems like a good deal but I am just not sure. Can I do better or should I take it? Appreciate any insight or help.

$31K for the base FWD is little high, even with the spoiler. If you can install by yourself, the OEM spoiler is about $300+. I bought the same model last week for $30K plus taxes. The dealer gave me wheel locks and slashguards for free.

If it's a straight deal, no trade or fees, your $31K number is fine. Sometimes, the price is lowered by the dealer lowballing the trade, or adding on higher "fees" (doc fees).

Plus a lot depends on local Acura dealer competition. Low price one area often does not equate to the absolute lowest price in others. If you're within $500 or so of the best deal out there what's to worry on a $30k+ car.
