Ah, I see! I didn't know there is a dealer's cost of $34,046 else I would have negotiated more. Edmunds now shows a TMV cost of $36,688 for the color of my model and area where I live. It looks like it went up from a few days ago or I was hallucinating back then. Comparing apples to apples, my "TMV" is $36k.

Like I said, I should have read and posted here first! Oh well!

I recently (on Aug 21) purchased a 2009 Acura TL AWD/Tech Package for $37,500 plus TTL. It is silver outside and taupe/ebony inside. They threw in wheel locks but nothing else and they would not throw in all weather floor mats. I purchased it from Open Road Acura in Wayne, NJ. They did not have many AWD/Tech left (only 4 in the lot) although they have another dealership in East Brunswick. I live on Long Island.

How was your experience with Open Road in Wayne? I live in Bergen County and went to Ramsey Acura first. Open Road was my next stop but alas Ramsey made it a pleasant experience so I never made it to Open Road. On second thought I would give up the freebies to get the Tech package for $1,500 more like you did.

I had a very pleasant experience. The sales person told me the price over the phone so it saved dragging negotiations. I initially wanted black exterior and taupe interior and they didn't have it. So they gave me a $250 discount from $37,750 to $37,500, which is fine by me.

It took them two days to get the car - it was driven from their East Brunswick dealership to Wayne, so it got about 64 miles when I took the car.

As I posted about a million years ago was that I had a very good experience at Open Road in Wayne and recommended them on this thread. I also wrote a review on the dealer rating page on Edmunds. I paid $38995 including all taxes for an AWD Non Tech...and STILL love it!!

That's an excellent price for the AWD TECH, they did not throw in the mats because at that price, throwing in the mats would erode their profit margins even more.I keep reinforcing to the posters here that it would be better to just order your accessories from discount retailers who offer the same genuine parts at half the cost of what the dealer charges.I always buy from acurapartssuperstore.com and right now I think the mats are on sale.

Hi I'm close to buying the same car and same colors. I was wondering what people have been experiencing for actual MPG in town and highway with the SHAWD. Any insight would be great from anyone who knows. You can also hit my e-mail as well (miketerri9aol.com). Thanks, Mike

Our driving is very suburban, no trips over 50 miles yet, more local driving, some heavy traffic. We are averaging 21.5. We have been as high as 25 on some 'segments' where there was a lot of highway driving.

Thank You Chasboy for the response. So you are seeing 21.5 with mostly in town driving with the AWD & bigger engine? Dealer had told me not to expect much over the sticker 17 MPG but on my 07 TL I get a good 21 in town over the 18 MPG sticker. Is the 21.5 what the computer says or do you hand calculate it at fill-up?
Thanks again really appreciate you taking the time to reply. I had other questions for you, might be easier if you are willing just to do e-mail but whatever works for you. Either way is fine by me I'm just learning this blog so still fumbling around a bit. Ahh just read where they don't want you to post your e-mail address in the forum. Mike

Yes, Mike, we have the AWD and we get 21.5 all the time. Yesterday we did 100 miles from a fresh full tank of 95% highway and got 25. I do go by the computer, I don't feel like doing it the old way anymore. My BMW had a similar unit and I did check that one, and it worked fine, so I let the computer tell me how we are doing. I havent gone below the 21.5 since the car got some miles on it-about 5000 now.
Ask away as far as other questions! I don't mind at all.
