You figure he wouldn't have to pay the $595 acquisition fee, but my experience with dealers is that they figure out a way to pay the finance department even when you're paying cash!!! I didn't run the numbers, but when benzserviceguy talks about adjusted cap cost, that means purchase price. |

I didn't know about these Forums until AFTER I bought the car (ugh!). So, went for a test drive of the base model and ended up buying the AWD. Go figure! I didn't even drive the AWD but the wifey said it would be better in the snow. So, AWD for $36k (before TTL) but he threw in the protection package (mud guards, wheel locks, and trunk tray) and Lojack for free. I would have taken the car w/o the package or Lojack for a cheaper price but it's the only AWD left in the color I can live with (white/taupe). They only had two AWDs left. Iffy deal? I think I did ok but could have done better.

Replying to: billyperks2 (Sep 08, 2009 1:12 pm) BTW, question to all. I went back to take a look at the car again today and I noticed the lower body molding on the driver side is "askewed". The fit and gap is not correct near the rear wheel well (just in front). The gap is rather large compared to the passenger side. It doesn't look like that it was bumped by anything as there's no marks or dents any where. I pointed this out and the dealer took it to his body shop guy instead of letting a mechanic muck around with body panels. Response back is that some of the clips holding it let go or got bumped and he has no idea how it happened. This is a show car on a pedestal on the lot. What would cause this to happen? Is it this fragile? He said he's going to replace the clips and snap the molding properly back one. It will be "as good as from the factory." Should I trust him? He has been good throughout the deal but something just doesn't sit right in my stomach that a dealer has to snap back a piece of molding. Will it be "as good as from the factory" and will it hold up for the life of the car? I know this may be a minor question but it's a lot of money to me! There are no other cars to swap as this dealer. Thanks!
