I'm considering buying an Acura for my next car, and I live in downtown Chicago. There are many Acuras on the road here, and I have learned that construction of the first in-town Acura dealership has been postponed until the economy recovers. For now, area Acura dealerships are all in the suburbs. My question is this: If I buy an Acura, is there an alternative to driving to a suburban dealership for service? Is there a service facility in town approved by Acura corporate? Until that new dealership opens, it seems like a city-dwelling Acura owner would have enormous inconvenience getting his car serviced. If any Chicago Acura owners have suggestions, I'd welcome them. Apologies to the hosts if this inquiry is off-topic, I chose this forum because I see a lot of Acura TLs on the road each day. Thank you kindly.

You can call around.... it's possible that one of the Acura dealers in Chicago has a valet service to pickup your car, when it needs work. Or... just buy a Bentley.... They have a showroom just a few blocks off Michigan Avenue...

Just picked up our 09 TL w/Tech pkg. Basque Red Pearl (almost Wine colored) Taupe Interior MSRP: $39,495 (has Pro Pack added which we really didn't care for & they threw it in = Mud guards, wheel locks & trunk liner - BIG Whoop) Cap Cost = $34,237.00 (Included the 2K in trunk/incentive money) Cap cost Reduction: $1,783.50 Adjusted Cap cost $33,048.50 Acquision fee: $595.00 (inc in adj cap cost) Dealer doc fee: $45 Cali tire fee $8.75 T,T & L: $706.85 1st Month's payment = $455.90 ($415.40 + $40.50 in California 9.75% tax for LA county) TOTAL out of pocket (Driveoff) = $3,000 (see above for breakdown) MF = .00184 (Tier 1 and/or Super preferred tier thru Honda Finance) 55% residual ($21,722.25) 12K yr/36 month term Got it from the internet dept of KEYS ACURA in VAN NUYS, CA One of the easiest & most pleasurable (if you can even use that in the same sentence) car buying experiences. Good luck to all others as inventory is dwindling quickly!! |

Went to a dealer in south Bay Area yesterday and getting close but stuck on $34000+Tax and Fees. I asked for trunk tray and all-season floor mats as throw-ins. Dealer insist they want at least $200 dollars more but I would not add one dime more (they didn't even show me how to break down the fees and just told me in California it's 11% of the car price in total). I compared 2009 TL and 2008 TL and know exactly what Acura is trading off. Boasting of advanced technology, but side mirrors are not dimmed, no ventillated seats, no rain sensing wipers, and I don't think they have light under the hood. It's a good car, but I really don't want to offer more. What do you guys think? Thanks, NLY |
