Armed with that information what would you offer a dealer for that car? $1000 below?, or $1,500...No!!! We would ask and expect the full $2,200 below invoice. And be upset when the dealership says "Pass". Once again I'm not saying pay sticker for a car unless the market demands, but if I investested my hard earned dollar in a business, I would certainly expect more that the $1,500 on a 30,000 to $45,000 investment per car, that has to come from the factory to survive even in good times. Soon these facilities that have to make an honest, profit honestly, will cease to exist, at which point you will have no choice but to go to the only other certified Acura dealership to service your car, and believe me, that dealer will know that he/she is the only game in town at that point, not to say that they won't treat you nicely, but I'm sure that will have and effect on what you ultimately pay for service.

any thoughts on the following:

2006 TL
Base w/o NAV
36,000 miles
1 owner (former lease)
Dark gray ext
beige leather int
automatic

i can get in around 20,250 after some negotiation - i've contacted a few dealers about similar cars and they don't seem too willing to budge.

is this a reasonable price or are the certified 2006's a better deal in the high teens (if anyone can actually get them there...)

The local and state government won't let that happen. Then you really wouldn't have any way of negotiating on a price. If all of the dealerships were owned by the manufacturer, there would be no reason to "dicker on the sticker" with any potential buyer. You'd have to go to another state to buy---..oh wait, the manufacturer owns that one too!! No deals there. Or better yet just wait until there are enough incentives to get to the "sweet spot" and then buy, just like we do today. There is no perfect solution to the cycle and that exactly what it is, a cycle. So stop worrying about how much the next person paid for the car and if they got a better deal than you or me for that matter. If I can afford the price/payment that it takes to lease/buy the car and they happen to make a fair profit during the transaction so be it. That's what they're there for, to stay in business, and make a profit, so that when I do go there for a service visit, I know that they will take care of all of my needs and provide me with a loaner car to boot. I'm sure those aren't free.
They aren't driving themselves out of business, it's us the consumer, always looking for a better, cheaper deal. And as I said before we will have no choice but the remaining dealers to repair our cars, or it will be jiffy lube that's closer to our homes or workplaces because the one that we beat out of some profit couldn't afford to keep their doors open... even with service business.

What are they selling you the for- 39K or 40K?
I was offered 40,575 including the incentive.
So basically the dealer is making 2k off this 1k above invoice and 1k back from the Manufacturer. All this includes destination.
