Hi all, My local dealer still has a few 08 TLs without Navi in stock, and I think this might be a good time to pounce. (I'm going with the 08 because 1) it should be a good deal and 2) I really don't like the look of the grill on the 09). Anyway, here is my plan - tell me if you have any thoughts. The dealer had sent me a quote of 27,500 for an 08 TL w/o navi in October. That price includes everything except TTL and their 'processing fee'. So I figure worst case, I can get 27,500 (+ processing fee). But surely I can get a better price than I got 2 months ago? I'm going to try for 26,000 and no processing fee. So add in 5% sales tax and I'm at 27,300. I'm also expecting to get Kelley Blue Book for my trade-in. Is this realistic? Could I do even better? I figure I can be aggressive because it's now 2009, I'm buying the base model without navi, and in this economy cars can't be selling very well. I'll also be paying cash, so I don't need any promotional financing. Thanks in advance! I'll post here tomorrow with the outcome....

Replying to: dckiwi (Jan 03, 2009 7:06 pm) What state are you in? I got the same quote from a local dealer in TX: $27,500 for 2008 w/o nav (destination included). Were you able to make a deal with the dealer? Please do keep us posted with your experiences.

Replying to: dckiwi (Jan 03, 2009 7:06 pm) I saw an 08 this past Saturday, no Nav. Not a demo or loaner. I offered $26K, the lowest they would go was $28. I walked away. This is in the Phila area. Good luck with your purchase. |

Hello All, This web site was very helpful for me when I was on the Lexus forum a few years back. Sounds like the '09 TL AWD w/Tech is the way to go. Anyone with ideas on the best OTD price in the Nothern CA area? Thanks! |

Replying to: lynn37 (Jan 04, 2009 8:29 am) The dealer wouldn't budge on his original offer - $27,500 + TTL and their processing fee ($385). The total OTD price was $28781.35. I would have preferred navi but 08s with navi are hard to find now, especially in the color I wanted (black/black). Even the car I bought tonight had to be trucked up from a dealership in Southern VA.
