I'm in the same boat. Buy today (31st), wait till next week or late next month (end of month is the best time to buy). What prices are you being quoted? I have an offer over the phone for a 09 without nav, front wheel 33,645. Could prob get another 1500-2500 off since that was their 1st offer. Also debating between the accord coupe and the 09 TL. Having trouble justifying 5-6000$ extra for a very similar car.

I picked up an '09 non-Tech FWD today for $32,395. I got rid of an '08 Accord EX-L V-6 due to issues with the VCM system on the V-6.
If you decide to go with the Honda, make sure you test drive the EXACT car you are going to purchase. Not all V-6's are created equal. I test drove an EX V-6, and everything was great. At the last minute I decided to get one with leather instead, and it's V-6 was horrible due to the VCM. The problem was I hadn't test driven it prior to signing on the dotted line.

The last day of Honda's Fiscal year is January 5, 2009. For other manufacturer's it is January 2, 2009. This is the actual target date not December 31, 2008.
I'm picking up my TSX tomorrow - agreed upon price is $621 below invoice.

Just remember a Demo, is a dealership rental car as is a loaner. Depending on the mileage, 50 -75 different drivers have driven the car, knowing they had no financial interest in the car, just like driving an Enterprise rental car. Adjust the price with the dealership accordingly.

Out of curiosity: In what state are you located (that you paid that price)? Do you attribute that price to doing the purchase the last day of the year?

Did you negotiate that price prior to revealing your trade-in? It's a great price if you got fair value, but they could have made their money back on that end.

I'm in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. I think being near the end of the month, and the end of the year helped some, but slow auto sales in general made a difference as well.

merlion0821, did that 32,395 include destination? Any other costs besides taxes, title, registration? Did it also come with side trim molding?

Yes, that price did include destination, and there were no other costs besides the tax, title & registration. The dealer claimed I was the first one to get a selling price into their "reserve". I asked him if he was referring to their holdback, and he said yes.
It did not come with the side trim molding.
So far, I'm extremely happy with the car.

Good job merlion0821. I offered essentially the same price on Dec. 30th as a "take it or leave it." The response was "but we won't make any profit." The dealer hasn't sold one of its basic models for over 1 month.
Soon they will wake up to the reality of the market. Their position is like someone with a home purchased 2 years ago saying, "I can't sell if below $____ because I would take a loss."
