These items are dealer installed options - AKA additional dealer markup. I got the Acura mudflaps thrown-in on my deal. I would teld the dealer I was not interested and have them taken off. A roll of tape is cheap and would not take an hour to install.

I would also go for the TL as I believe it will have a much higher resale alter on as well as it being an new car. The warantee is 4 years 48K miles I believe so why buy without a warantee?

2008 TL price by luv2cruse

Hi, I have just purchased a 2008 TL base model for $27400. Out-the-door total $30,100 with 0.9% 36mos financing. The total interest for this car is only $420... almost free money. The car has 124 miles, but includes floor mats, trunk tray, and wheel locks. Is this a good price? I bought it from Elk Grove Acura in Sacramento, CA. It's white exterior, ebony interior.

Thanks.

Search this forum under the word vibration and you will see this apparently was a problem in many TLs especially 2004-2008. Don't know if there are any resolutions but I would read and see what others experienced in the way of a fix.

2009 Acura TL AWD with TECH by LubDub

Precision Acura in Princeton, NJ
40,000 for 2009 TL with AWD and TECH
traded in my 95000 mile Accord that needed some work on the brake pads and alignment for 6k. Declined all the usual crap about extended warranty and super coated paint, etc....

36k+tax+title. (got rid of "destination charge")

got quote from internet dept. good place. reliable. Went to a competing dealership in bridgewater, NJ and offered them the price i was getting from Precision to see if they wanted to beat it...

either they thought i was bluffing or they really had no interest in selling a car, but they essentially rebuked me and said, "if someone is going to give you that car for that price, i suggest you go there"

so i did.

the irony?

Precision didnt have the color of the car that i wanted....

they had to get it from Bridgewater dealership.

happy shopping...

I originally thought about posting the entire email thread ...but it takes up a lot of space here so I decided against it. I will email it however to anyone who'd like to read the ENTIRE email, its pretty "interesting". I'm going to post just a few parts of the email to keep it short: I offered to pay 29,200 for TL w/ NAV.

I'll post just a few of the salesman's emails here: (I've cut out the salesman's name per forum rules)

We have only one Acura TL NAVI (2008) left on our lot in White Diamond Pearl/Taupe. We have received several phone calls this morning alone on that vehicle from other dealerships, which puts us in a very good place. I know that you two are seeking a deal...so are we. This is truly 'first come, first served!' We only had two 2008 Acuras left at the start of business this morning: the TL and an MDX...which just got sold--and I had to send an email to my client that it was sold (unfortunately, not by me)...the
TL has one of my co-worker's taking pix of this same vehicle right now! It may be sold before I hear from you, so hurry!

Your expecting the dealership to lose just over $2200 on this deal...and if you recall, this is our LAST one--the same one that we have several offers on from clients and dealerships, alike! We have one inbound offer $34500 on this vehicle that the sales manager is awaiting this clients arrival. Losing money is even open for discussion for him on this deal. He's looking to acquire more 2008, because of how 'hot' they have become at this moment!
Edmunds has this vehicle going for $32,577 and you see how different your offer is to what he's about to receive. The clients have just entered the building. I will contact you when this deal has concluded (either way). Where could we meet (in the middle) with this deal--$33,995??? That's if these clients don't buy!I believe the online inquiry...you have the dealership's number to check the validity of the last 2008 TL potentially being sold--you can call and anonymously check.Talk to you soon.Let me know your final offer...

Simple math alone (subtracting the $3500 and the $640) still leaves $32845--where is the other three grand comes from to get down to your final asking price??? I know that you are not intentionally not considering my work in this, but the dealership is not going to make a loosing deal--$32,577 would be the ground level on this one...the client is still negotiating...good thing he doesn't have access to this email, huh!I have an appointment; I'll type to you shortly!

My response:
Hi, its alright, don't worry about it. You must be looking at MSRP price. I'm telling you that theres are people paying 29500 including destination minus TTL. The $3500 and $640 was off the INVOICE, not MSRP. But like I said.. dont worry about it, a response isnt needed. I think we both know this isnt going to work out.

Ofcourse, the salesman sent me another email anyways being a smarta$$ just like you would expect. I just want to say "Good Job ORR Acura of Shreveport Louisiana"

sounds to me like the salesman was trying to get msrp and 3500 off that. NOW thats a scam. 3500 is off invoice. Typical sale pitch "o we have other clients interested in the vehicle also, i heard that from a few dealership also AND guess what the 2 cars i was interested in are still sitting on there lot 2day, which is over 4 months ago. thats just goes to show what crooks they are. Consumers are not stupid ! when are dealers going to realize this.

Let him keep the car, stay firm on your price and if you buy elsewhere drive over to that dealership with the car you bought and show him what BS he told you.
