You're kidding us, right..??

I have always noticed that our Lexus GPS/nav cannot always find the shortest or quickest route, say the one I already knew, between point A & B.

What somewhat amazed me is that once I got the Garmin and travelled along with both "enabled" the Garmin was more likely to find the best route. But what was interesting was that as we travelled along the Lexus system would eventually "find" the very same routing as the Garmin turn for turn.

So it wasn't that the Lexus didn't have enough map resolution it was that the Lexus was clearly part BRAIN DEAD.

As a for instance the Lexus system wanted to take us through the tri-cities area (Richland/Pasco/Kennewick) from Condon Oregon home to Seattle. Even an idiot could see that was not a proper route, time or distance.

Well, never received the phone call that the sales person said he would do. Oh well, we decided to get a 2010 Camry.

Well, it is no Lexus, but a new 2010 Camry is a fine car nonetheless by the same parent compnay. Enjoy the new car!

Hello. Just bought a 06 GS 300 yesterday. Have spent the last day scouring all of the manuals and literature trying to learn about the car. My major issue is with the bluetooth......can not figure out how to transfer my phone book and I can not seem to manually add numbers into the phone book. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

#3067 of 3071 99 GS 300 Sunroof Seal & Rear Drain Leaks by frankbailey

Aug 30, 2009 (3:22 pm)

I have a 99 GS 300. I noticed water in the left rear footwell. Investigation yielded the sunroof seal leaking. Further investigation showed the drain port on the left rear side of the sunroof also leaks. I was able to thread a weedwacker line up from the discharge of the drain hose, but when I checked to see if I had unplugged it, it still leaked when I ran some water over that section of the sunroof. How do you (1) replace the sunroof seal & (2) repair the drain tube? If this requires headliner removal, how is that done? Also, how do you replace the sunroof seal?

I have a 1991 Nissan Maxima SP with 108,000 miles and have never changed the transmission fluid, it runs great. I also have a Lexus 1999 GS300 with 65,000 miles, and trying to decide whether I should change T.F.

I have read in a past article that said original T.F. should not be changed. I have followed the Lexus manual and did the timing belt, drive belt, water pump etc., but I'm hesitant on the T.F., any thoughts.

Another problem... occasional surge when pressing gas pedal. I have owned this car for 10 years and have avoided any mishaps, however while having the car in for some work at a Firestone shop one of the mechanics caused the car to surge and hit the side of the building causing major damage which they paid for.

Did or does anyone have a similar problem.
Thanks

#3069 of 3071 Looking to buy a 2001 Lexus GS 300 by chaseallen76

May 15, 2010 (12:45 pm)

Hello. I am looking to buy a 2001 lexus gs 300 with 94k miles on it. Seems to be in good condition. the 2nd owner has only owned the car since Feb. Any ideas at what types of maintenance this car will be needing in the near future? timing belt, water pump? assuming it checks out ok, is $8500 a good price? person to person kelley blue book is $7950 but no sure if a lexus in good condition goes by KBB. any insight would be greatly appreciated.

2001 GS300 with 75K should be about $7500, but for a good-condition car $8500 is OK.

Have not had any problems with mine except replacing O2 sensor and Mass airflow sensor.

Good luck.
