#1095 of 1173 2000 E320 Mercedes Benz
Dec 23, 2009 (9:29 pm)
Hello good fellows, I am retired and my wish was to own a Mercedes Benz one day. So, I invest $5900.00 on a 2000 E320 with 186,645 miles with NO MALFUNCTION except for a LIGHT MALFUNCTION SOME TIME. But I did take a warranty for the Motor and the Transmission for 3 years. I will not be driving the car all the times because I own a 2000 Nissan Maxima with 89500 miles. Will you please tell me how many miles I have left on this car. A friend of mine has a Honda Accord that run 278000+ miles. So give me your advice. Thanks

I have 170,000 on my 200 E320. It runs fine. I'm the original owner and it has been mostly dealer serviced since new. Good luck with yours. If you don't know the maintenance history of the car you are at a disadvantage. Get the car to a dealer or knowlegable independent for a thorough check out. There are some good tips on what to look for and the proper care and feeding of your car at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w210-e-class/.
How did you get a warranty on a car with that mileage???

Have been driving MB's for almost 40 yrs. Strongly recommend that you join the MBCA. MB Club of America. You will get all the info that you need from fellow members.

I own a 2000 e320 and the oil sensor came on saying it was low. I filled it to just below the max line on the stick and now it says to redue oil level....should I be concerned or remove some oil.

50084 miles and needs a cam sensor- $5k for a damn sensor, o' yea factory warranty went out at 50K miles and Mercedes USA does not want any part of this!
#1103 of 1173 84 miles beyond warranty and MBUSA will not step up?

i'm surprised that a little shmoozing would not result in near-total coverage for such a major engine failure 84 miles beyond warranty!
It sure sounds like a brutal/annoying situation, but probalby not a surprise, given that MB cars are known to be relatively unreliable and to have considerable maintenance-costs.
#1104 of 1173 Dim Headlight

I have a 1987 Mercedes 300E. The driver's headlight has dimmed significantly. The bulb tests out as fine. Any suggestions?
