that fact about the new Spectra's platform. Hey, Ingtonge18, this should put fears to rest about chassis refinements for this handsome new Kia 4-door sedan and the "later to be shown-to-the-world"(2004 Auto Show in New York in April)5 door hatch(Kia didn't specify hatch, but umm...). It WILL have an all-new platform that the 2006 Hyundai Elantra will also be unitized to. Makes sense, this will be an all-new car. This car is looking better to me the more I read about it. It should be ready for the American market as my Sportsman reaches the 100,000 mile mark so it'll probably be between the new Spectra and the new Sportage(under development) that I'll trade in for. Read it with a big 'ole happy smile! Here's a survey for y'all: if there was a plastic Revell model of the Spectra/Cerato available right now, would you buy it? I know I would, who else would? I've already printed out a red Cerato picture from their Korean "English" website! Whoo-hoo!
breribble, which Kia model do you drive and how d'ya like it?

I'd buy one for the sake that it would be the first Kia that turned into a model car. (all the model cars out there are like Ford, Mercedes Benz, BMW)

I've got a Revell plastic model of it complete with decals and racing stickers to add to it if I want to. I'm planning on starting production of it either Thanksgiving time or Christmas time..looking forward to starting on it. I haven't decided about the racing getup yet for it which includes a small front valance piece for it as well. I'm painting it yellow. Yeah, unfortunately Revell hasn't made any Hyundia or Kia models but it has made the Honda Civic tuner series and the like(which I could care less about). I also scored my 2nd 2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT V6 Hot Wheel toy to go up on top of my computer desk "technology display" section.

I have a Hot Wheels Miata, white, pop-up headlights and all. Exactly like my car. Only the wheels look like they came off a Viper.

and is my favorite Mazda ever. The new RX-8 is an interesting design, though. In a magazine I was reading yesterday a reader termed the RX-8 the "angry guppy look". Back to the new 2005 Kia Spectra. Hey, bluewinds or carspy01-do we have to offer a reward for insider information on this cool new car that has suddenly sprung to the top of my "futures" list?

an article printed on Oct.2, 2003. It states that production of the American Specta will begin in December but doesn't state WHICH YEAR. After re-reading it I would venture a big 'ole guess that they mean THIS year. This car will be coming out in the year 2004 sometime! Everybody happily agree with me?

ive always been a fan for Japanese/Korean car commercials from Asia, they always seem to have a greater effect of selling the car....i doubt that the Navigation system will come here, but the CVVT engine will because its already in place in the 2004 Elantra

not a bad idea since the Mazda 3 will have it when it comes out.

but definitely not a requirement for me. Will you be able to plug a Gameboy cartridge into the console and remove it to play while waiting in traffic? Hee-hee...I love this new technology! I think it would just be easier to take your Gameboy Advance along and play it separately, know what I mean? No, if it has the NAV system that would be great. Anybody want to venture a guess how much Kia will charge for a 2005 Kia Spectra sedan with 5-speed transmission, PWR mirrors, locks and doors, A/C and a competent CD/FM stereo? I'm saying it will run around $13,500 MSRP. Any other guesses? It's on my "futures" list that's why I'm interested in what y'all think.

For anyone keeping up with Hyundai/Kia's upcoming models, there's some spy pictures posted in the Sonata topic for the 2005 Hyundai Sonata.
