2000 GMC Yukon Denali Fuel Gauge Issue by maxmad

My fuel gauge on my 2000 Yukon Denali, has started to vibrate in position after the vehicle has been running about 10 or 15 minutes. The vibration is so fast that the needle looks twice as wide as it is. When driving the dampening of the needle is not always there anymore. If you turn the vehicle off then back to the on position the gauge swings clockwise past the full mark to a hard stop point for about 5 or 10 seconds. It does seem to be reading about right. When you first start the vehicle cold, everthing seems fine for awhile. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a 04 Denali XL. There's no popping in the steering column but I had to have the steering gear replaced because of vibration and a grinding sometimes squealing noise when making sharp left turns at a slow speed. The problem has re surfaced and only does this when the engine gets up to normal operating temp, I'm from the southeast so the problem is more noticeable during the hot summer months. Someone suggested that I need a front end alignment so I'm taking it to the shop for service and a all around lube job to see if that helps. Will let you know the results. Thanks for the info on the A/C because mine blows hot air from the driver's vents but the front passenger and rear continues to blow cool/cold air. I'll check the belt tensioner and will probably change the serpentine belt. Will let you know.

02 GMC Yukon XL Power Surge/114K Miles by rm5209

I'm having problems with a power surge that started about 15 months ago. Had to replace year old battery 12 months ago. All lights (interior and exterior) "strobe" during operation. Took to GM dealer and was told that factory recommends re-routing wiring. Alternator was checked but is putting out proper amps. But meter does show surge. Can someone help me b/c I don't want to play the "let's try this to see if it works" game that the dealer wants to play.

I am having problems with the battery running down also, with only the radio playing. Now the battery seems to be bad or not getting charged. I had not heard of the recalls that were mention pertaining to ID#07007 and etc. Besides the battery, I recently had the air conditioner blowing cold air on the passenger side and hot air on the driver's side of this vehicle. I tried the controls but did not fix. When I turn the vehicle off then back on, the air started flowing correctly. I hope the repairs that were mentioned will
correct these problems. I will look at getting a new battery or a second battery. Any other suggestion will be appreciated.

Our dealer replaced our negative battery cable (which I thought was crazy) and it seems to have fixed our battery problem. They said GM was not sure what was wrong with these cables but they have replaced several on the Denali and it is fixing some electrical issues. Who knows, but so far three weeks have gone by with out any problems.

2003 Yukon Denali with approx 110,000 miles. The dome lights(frt to cargo area) are engaged and will not switch off. The switch dimmer is working but will not shut lights off completely. Is there a way to isolate the problem to a faulty switch?

I have a 04 Denali XL. There is a humming noise and a slight vibration in the steering wheel when making left turns at a stop or slow speeds. Turning to the right is as smooth as ever. The noise is similar to what a vehicle makes when the power steering fluid is low, I have checked and double checked the fluid and it is where the manual says it should be. Had this problem before when the vehicle was still under warranty, the steering gear was replaced and I didn't have any problems again until recently. Had a front and rear wheel alignment, vehicle rides well but still has the problem. I'm worried that it could turn into a major repair if I don't find the problem soon. Any suggestions or ideas out there

The tires are in good condition and recently rotated but I'll have them checked. Thanks.

i notice there is space for a second battery. is it possible to install a deep cell battery for accessory use using an A/B switch without harming the electronics on vehicle or voiding the warranty? i have used this system on boats but dont know if it translates to autos.

also, my owners manual was stolen (looks like a purse) dealer wants $85.00 for new one..is it downloadable?? on the web?..
thanks
