2000 denali problems by dizzyd1

I will never own another chevy or GMC again, I've been having problems with my front end on my Yukon. It vibrates like hell, it's rough over every little bump, it floats down the highway, and the outside of my tires are always wearing out. I took it to a GMGoodwrench here in colorado, they had it for a full day and when I went to pick up, all they wanted to do was change every fluid container in my vehicle. I didn't realize I brought it to a Jiffy Lube. Well the next day I took it to a Brakes Plus and they found that I needed 4 ball joints, idler and pitman arm replaced. My extended warranty thought they were full of crap, but the inspector they sent out said yeah replace it all.
Now why did the GM dealership miss this, did the mechanic not want to perform this work or are they incahoots with the extended warranty people?
Well I'm still having problems with it, it is so unsafe to drive down the highway that if you have 1 little distraction, your in the other lane. So I took it back to Brakes Plus and they admit there is still a problem, but they can't figure it out and they want me to see a GM experts. I respected that from since I didn't have to pay for everything to get replaced. Now I'm getting ready to go back to the GM experts and if they can't fix it, it will be the last GM vehicle I will ever own. Thinking maybe a Dodge or a Ford. I grew up with GM's my entire life, so this will be a big change for me. And my Denali only has 80,000 miles and the front end is wore out. And if can I want E1 to boycott GM and start looking at something else.

that's joke, GM that is. What the hell are they saying that is normal, just to have your car start rolling the other way. This is basically what they told me, Everything is in specifications with my front, so I will have to deal with the severe vibration, replacing tires every year, getting my tires balance and rotated every month. I've had 6 alignments in the last years, but hey everything is in specifications. what they're basically saying is it is time to buy a new one since we can't build anything to last more than 75,000 miles.

I know it's probably too late..but Arnott Inc. in Florida has the pump ($170.00) and the rear shocks ($190.00 ea.) for your Yukon. I replaced the pump (very easy) on my 2001 Yukon XL and am waiting for the shocks to arrive. I was also quoted $2300.00 for the job.

2007 Denali Center Console Replacement by braymil

Does anyone know of an aftermarket center consoles that will directly replace the original equipment in the 2007 Denali? It seems to me that the original console has a lot of wasted space beneath the 2 cup holders and small storage/coin bin. I find that the door to the cup holder compartment is in the way when reaching shorter cups and cans. I would like much more functionality out of this area. The looks are great, the usefulness is awful. Any help on locating replacements or mods to existing would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi - I have the same issue with my 2001 Denali. Could you tell me approx. how much your part cost? My husband is pretty savvy with auto repair; is this something that he could handle, or does it need to be repaired by the dealer (agh!)?

Thank you very much.

GMC headache by gmclady

We purchased a 2003 GMC Yukon SLT and got it back from the dealer for some minor bumper repair. Now, the truck is not going faster than 15 mph no matter how much we accelerate and the dashboard said "reduce engine speed" . Also, the truck is now idling hard and the mirrors no longer go automatically down when parking. Does anyone know what this could be ??

I'm having the same issue with my Denali and is hoping someone figure something out. I'm afraid to take it to the dealship because I don't want them to start telling me this is wronge and that is wronge, just to make more money off of me. Please keep me posted and I'll do the same.

2004 Denali Stinks! by foggycreek

I have a 2004 Denali and I have had nothing but problems!
The AC comes in and out when the weather is hot,
The DVD/Radio/Navigation system overheats and is not funtional, and the latest item to break is the speedometer! The darn thing says I am doing 120 at a dead stop! I hate driving my 2 year old around because I am afraid something else might happen. I haven't gotten rid of it because we don't owe anything on it and can't afford to trade it in. Even with all the problems it has, it is still driveable but at the amount of money it cost, we shouldn't be having these problems with a 2004!
I would NEVER buy it again and would advise anyone against doing so. And I can't get the dealerships to do anything about it because it is out of warranty. This is ridiculous!

Yes! We have a 2003 Serria that has started doing the same thing and the garage that we work threw is looking into it. We have to pull over, shut it down for a minute and then it resets and will either work for a few miles to 100 or so miles. There is also a little engine light in the upper left side of the panel that shows up when it also reads the reduce engine speed below. What a pain! We are taking it back in tomorrow.
You have any help with yours yet?

My husband called the dealership and he was told that this vehicle "tends to have sensor problems". (one of the managers has the same vehicle). He told my husband to go back to the car, start it again and the problem should be gone. Amazingly enough it was and we haven't had that problem since. But when he took it to the dealer after they did find that the battery needed replacing and that was effecring the mirrors going down but they didn't say of this was the cause of the other problems.
