I understand your displeasure with not getting exactly what you expected. However, at least (I think) you can check the transmission fluid on the 4 speed, not the 5 speed. I have the 4 speed in a 1999 Intrepid and it (with regular fluid and filter changes) has been flawless through 125,000 miles. My son takes that Dodge to college. I actually like the way the Autostick works better in the Dodge than in my the 5 speed in the 300C. If I liked the rest of the car (and they are great riding cars), I think I'd get used to it. How long a warranty did they give you? I would have asked for free transmission services according to the dealers most severe conditions schedule. Enjoy the 300.

Do you have the 2.7 V-6? To get the 5 speed tranny, you had to get the more powerful 3.5 V-6 or the HEMI. If that changed for 2008, it may be because of the recent change of ownership Chrysler experienced. The Mercedes 5-speed may be a limited supply item now...

Yes I have a 3.5 six it was the only one advertised in the Chrysler pamphlets.
Thats why I am disappointed in the dealership and Chrysler.

I did research on this in '06.I found That anything built before 9-6-05 with the Touring/limited had the 4 speed, anything after had the 5 speed.Check your built date on the door and see what the built date was.Now they show the '08 with the 4 speed again for Touring/Limited.Chrysler doing alot of changing right now.Double check your pamphlet and make sure it doesnt state the 5 speed as A option,or that their will be a change after a certain date.Check in small print.Good Luck

I had the same issue with my '05. The wire under the seat stretches and pulls on the plug when the seat is moved too far forward. Just play with the plug and it will start working again.

I have just purchased a 2007 300 limited that has the 6cd, am-fm, sat, and ucall radio. i would like to swap it for a MyGig unit. I have been told that I can not because MyGig came out with the 2008 model. From what I have researched the connections look the same. I also found out my car was built in late July of 2007, so the MyGig features migth have been incorporated. How can I find out.

I have a MyGIG in my '07 Sebring, so I know it will work on some 2007 Chrysler models. Mine came from the factory already installed.
You might search a little over on the Nitro forums. That's the best place I've found anywhere for MyGIG talk and tech info. Even though you have a 300 the people there seem willing to share information about MyGIG, no matter what you drive.

I started my 07 300 this morning and after allowing the car to warm up I noticed I had a Orange error light on in the dashboard. It was an exclamation with a half circle over it. After about 5 minutes of driving the error turned off.
I just bought my 300, does anyone know what this error means?
thanks

A good place to start would be to check your Owner's Manual for the meaning of the icon.
Best Regards,
