I had a 300C with numerous problems but your exit feature can be fixed. I complained four times and they finally put a new module in and that cured it. I had the dash replaced twice, the fuel pump once, some sort of esp module once and a thermostat in 54,000 miles. When the lease was up I got a Lexus. Problem is with the Lexus I haven't met any new friends at the service dept like I did with the chrysler. I sort of miss the roar of the hemi, but not the repair problems.

Have over 43,000 on my 05, done all the mtc required, just have cosmetic issues. A couple of weeks ago did a 1200 mile round trip and was getting from 24-26 mpg. For a hemi this is very good...

Oh, the seat back on exit feature stops working every few weeks and has to be reprogrammed (odd that the steering wheel up always works though).

Can you describe this feature a bit more? I bought my mom an 06 300C for Christmas two years ago and she's always singing the praises of her car but she has never mentioned this. I don't think she knows it's there.

Is it something you have to enable in the personal preferences?

It's under "Personal Settings". Scroll through the menu. It's labeled as "Automatically move seat back on exit". I'm guessing you have to "set" a particular steering wheel position and seat situation (forward/aft/height as well as seat back) first.

If the digital display only shows 4 gears, you can be sure that you only have four gears. Using the auto stick to manually shift up from first through fourth, you should see no change in the RPMs after fourth. If you bump the shifter to upshift from fourth and the RPMs drop, then you have found a fifth gear. I don't know of any 3.5V6 versions that have the five speed. It was a standard issue Mercedes for the 5.7V8 HEMI models. This is another one of the many reasons I opted to spend a bit more the 300C.

Both of my 2006 300C's began to drip a bit of transmission fluid on my garage floor at about 15000 miles. I took them in for service and was told it was simply an O-ring on the speedometer cable. This little rubber part cost 80 cents and was replaced while I waited. There is nothing wrong with the car or the transmission.

Checkout the after market kits on the internet. I have seen several of them that simply wrap around the existing one in one piece. They are self-adhesive and some are real wood, and look factory.

I purchased a 2006 300 Limited because all brochures listed it with 5 speed transmission.
When I took it back for service I was told that it had a four speed Tranny.I called chrysler and the best they could do was give me and= extended warranty.I think they used false information and wouldn't stand behind the customer against the dealer.
The salesman told me they didn't have a 4 speed tranny in the limited model three times. It is the last Chrysler product i will ever buy or recommend to a friend.

Was this a new or used Limited? If new, all you had to do was look at the window sticker. I thought all Touring and Limiteds with the 3.5 came with a 5 speed. I notice now with the 08's, every model except the C and SRT come with the 4 speed. Anyone know what happened?
I have an 07 300C, and couldn't be happier with the car!!!

The 5speed was a option on the Limited and Touring.I have a 06 Charger SXT with the 5 speed and I noticed that you can no longer get the 5speed on the Charger now unless its a R/T or better. It looks like Chrysler is only putting in the 5 speeds in the Hemi cars, which I think is a bad Idea.I think they are doing this for cost saving measure.Plus keep the prices the same. The 5 speed has been great so far,and I think I would be upset if I was told I had a 5 speed and it turned out to be a 4.I would be calling someone at Chrysler and ask for a buy back. The 4 speed not bad,but thats not the point.Robert56 -I think you should blame the salesperson more then Chrysler and put pressure on the dealer.Good Luck
