Sorry, Shipo, it was only an overheard conversation--so I can't speak of its accuracy--but the message was, whatever this "required" periodic check was, it was definitely NOT no cost.

I'm pasting the following paragraph from the actual text of the terms of the warranty:

"To continue warranty coverage, the owner must have a powertrain inspection performed by an authorized Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge dealer once every 5 years. This inspection will be performed at no charge. The inspection must be made within 60 days of each 5-year anniversary of the warranty start date of the vehicle."

I trust this helps.

Best Regards,

"This is a good warranty."

Yeah, and that makes for one heck of a compelling argument to buy a new Chrysler product. Given that we currently have two Chrysler products with a combined quarter of a million miles, we'll be needing a couple of replacements sometime in the next year or two. With the above two facts in mind, and in spite of the fact that I am a bit of a manual transmission bigot, the warranty is enough to put a 300C in my top five possible replacement cars.

Best Regards,
Shipo

Only in the top five?? Depends on what you're looking for, of course. A cushy rider it's not, but that's about the only complaint I have with mine (2005; 35,000 miles). It's a kick to drive, so responsive both in handling and in power that you'd think it was hardwired to your brain, gets good gas mileage for its power, and at least for me has had zero issues....

Like I said before, I'm a manual transmission bigot, that and I like a slightly smaller RWD car to throw around. As for my desire for a cushy rider, nope, that ain't a problem at all as the two 300Cs that I've taken out for a spin were pretty much at the cushy end of what I consider acceptable.

So, in my case, the decision is between, giving up my enjoyment of stirring my own gears in exchange for a car that I can drive for a couple hundred thousand miles and only have to pay for scheduled maintenance and peripheral repairs (i.e. not the drive train).

Then again, maybe, just maybe, when the new 6-Speed Challenger hits the market, Chrysler will also offer three pedals under the dash of the 300C as well. I know that there's probably a grand total of about six whacked out individuals in the entire country that would buy such a beast, but rest assured, I am one of them.

Best Regards,
Shipo

What Problems Remain in '08 by hfish1212

I know the older 4speed automatics had some stalling problems (must be the input or output sensors just like the previous 300m and similiar had). Does the 5speed have these same issues? Any other problems causing these cars to be lemons and avoided? I am extremely hesatant to even consider this or the charger because chyrsler has never even bothered to fix this dangerous problem.

I had a '02 Intrepid SXT with that 4 speed, and never had any stalling problem,or never heard of anyone who did.I now have a '06 Charger SXT with the 5 speed, and it is the best tranny I ever had in a Chrysler product. The 5 speed is a Mercedes design as well as the chassis. The 300 and Charger are the best Chrysler ever made.I wouldn't hesitate to tell someone to buy either car.Plus the lifetime warranty is the best so far.On the powertrain.

Anyone have comments on adjusting passenger headrest forward and back? The passenger headrest seems tilted too far forward, is there a way to adjust it back an inch or two?
