#269 of 308 Colour choices for 2006?
Mar 11, 2005 (2:22 pm)
Any rumours about Outback colour choices for 2006? Especially for the 2.5i, 2.5i Limited and 3.0R models. The two tone effect is fairly outdated. A proper aftermarket paint job (i.e. painting cladding and bumpers off the car)is not likely to be an economical option.

I live in Guelph,On, and was wondering if anyone
has knowledge as to why the former Sube dealer in
my city had their distribution licence cancelled/
annulled,as a dealer.
As a prospective buyer of an Impreza wagon,I
guess my nearest option would be the K-W dealer.
Can someone indicate the quality of service I can
expect at this dealer?
Also, people check out consumer reports mag initial quality reports on the freebie part of their site-where Subaru ranks numero uno-blowing
away Lexus et al.........

Being on the West Coast I can't help you with your question but I too was impressed with the April Consumer Reports. This issue had Subaru rated highly in several sections but we should remember that 2004 was the fifth production year for the same model run. Reading the other Subie sites at Edmunds regarding the 2005 model year has me a little worried that they will not do as well next year.

We bought our Legacy at the Kitchener dealership in 1999 and have had it in for service a few times. I don't think they are dishonest, but their attention to detail seems to leave something to be desired. We complained about a clicking noise from the brakes. They said the friction materials were fine, and serviced the brakes. Well before we got home (about 1 hr), they were clicking again. Since it was not that big a deal, we left it until we had another reason to go there. I think on the 4th visit, over the course of 3+ years when I again mentioned the problem they offered to service them for free with a new lubricant, and they were then quite. For the 48 K service I had done some of the items, specifically a synthetic oil change, so I asked them not to change the oil. They did, with regular dino oil, as indicated on the invoice. They offered me a free synthetic change on my next visit. On one visit I asked them to switch my tires from my winters to summers. They charged me for a rotation, but my summers were still in the trunk and back seat. They did quickly diagnose a faulty CEL as being a knock sensor though. Pay attention to the WO both before it goes into the bay, and when you pick up the car.
#273 of 308 road trip & subie sightings

Just back from a 3000 km road trip in the FXT, from Calgary to Tofino and Ucluelet on the BC Pacific Coast (rainforest, gray whales, storm watching, etc).
We were passed by two red XTs on the way out to Banff, and then no more XT sightings for the rest of the trip. There were tons of N/A Foresters out on the coast coast (some rentals), plus a host of other subies of various ages. I'd estimate up to 10% of all vehicles we saw on some days were Subies. Coming back to Alberta, where a 3/4 ton truck is considered just about adequate was a bit of a shock.
28 mpg was our best, taking it easy over the mountains (National Park highways = 90km/h).....
#274 of 308 Sounds like a cool trip, JP...

I'm seeing quite a few XTs around Cowtown these days, too. I guess the secret's out
#275 of 308 wake up canada!

Posted on another site was a report tha 04 FXTs are still available at some dealers in Canada and carry a $4200 incentive. If you can swing invoice, that's over $7000 off list. How can these amzing vehicles not sell at this price????

I think the majority of people who are looking at the Forester are looking for an affordable, practical, dependable, no-nonsense vehicle.
They are not interested in the awesome power of the FXT. But for those who are, it's the ultimate sleeper!

Well, in the USA, Subaru just had their best sales month ever. I think the lineup is great and they finally caved in and offered incentives.
So don't be surprised if SoC reports record sales next month...
#278 of 308 Is Soc offering incentives yet?

Saw an ad in the local newspaper claiming a huge Subaru sale: limited time & limited stock. Have been thinking about an OB for awhile & decided to go down for a look. Salesman responded with what sale? Does anyone know if SoC is starting to deal? Am located in Vancouver
