The main variables in leasing are the agreed upon price (Capitalized Cost,) lease term and miles. You can find the Lexus Money Factor by asking over on the leasing board. You can also ask the resdidual % (as long as you give length of term and miles per year). The most important factor is the Cap Cost. You should be able to get the same deal as everyone else and that is the place you have the most negotiating power. |

At Johnson Lexus, FWD, Premium plus, memory, towing, auto wipers, racks, power rear door, special steering wheel. 18" wheels, mats, $37,000. I doubt I'd go across the street to save only $500. This isn't a game, it's only buying a truck! |

I picked up my RX 330 yesterday afternoon and they offered me several things which I declined. The price was as quoted for the options I wanted. If you want to see what options I got go to my posted messages. I had the windows tinted for the $39,000 (Do you know what they charge to do this?) and was told not to roll them down for 4-5 days. I didn't think about that and took the tow road home. I had to open the door, unseatbelt and throw in the quarters that my son-in-law had given me twice on the way home. I hope I can use regular gas and not have to buy premium since the price of gas is so high. |

Donna: Congratulations on your purchase! Please keep us updated on your opinion of the RX over the course of the next few months. Host: Hi Host Steve, I don't know where I would make this comment but just to through in my two cents. How about in the future Edmunds look into establishing a standard form for the 'Price paid and Buying experience Boards". In that way when one wants to pull up information on a specific model w/certain options etc. they can just do a search and pull up only the vehicles related to the ones they are interested in. For instance I have been following the board for a few months now monitoring prices paid for two vehicles. 1I find it daunting to have to go through and reread every post as they all do not pertain directly to the price of new purchases; or they aren't detailed enough to be useful to a future buyer. Maybe by standardizing this information it would be easier for us future buyers to decipher relevent information. If there is something like this in place already please let me know, thanks! |

Hi LOL, [edit] Great idea and one that I think has been mentioned not too many months ago. Word is that something along these lines is being worked on (maybe for later this summer?) that will help people find prices paid easier. Steve, Host |

| I'm sure we will be kept up to date on any such future change. | |

Hi, Had an agreement with a dealer in Houston for a RX330 with premium plus, Nav. w/rear camera, heated seats w/rain sensing wipers, 18" wheels, towing, mats, and wheel locks. We had agree to a selling of $38,500, MSRP was $42,788 but now they say the price has gone up a $100. I told them no way since we had agreed to the selling price just yesterday. Are they doing this since the car is not on the lot? I was thinking of paying the $100 and tell them to tint the front windows. Thanks |

If they raised the price $100 you didn't have an agreement. Or if you have a contract in writing, it sounds like they just breached it. I'd love to tell you to walk, but (assuming the price is otherwise ok), you aren't that far apart. Just ding them on the survey after the deal and write the GM and complain mightily. If they won't go for the tint, try for a free oil change or something. Shoot, if you don't need a car right away, walk and keep shopping. We're in the middle of the model year and cars should be getting cheaper, not more expensive. Maybe the weak dollar is hurting Lexus? Steve, Host |
