we live in dallas and got a quote for the 2004 fwd rx330 with the navigation system, and i believe the premium plus package (heated seats, xenon headlights, back door that opens automatically, wood trim, alloy wheels, etc.)for $38,500. the msrp is $42,370. the problem is i can't figure out what the invoice is because the way that the websites have it is not the way lexus prices it out. is this a good deal? we also got a quote for the base model that has the premium plus package (or the premium pakage with extras, can't quite figure it out) without the heated seats and xenon lights (basically power rear door leather interior, wood trim, alloy wheels)for $35,600. the msrp is $39483. is that a good deal? is the navigation system and camera worth the extra $$?

Sounds like the Dallas dealers are starting to be more aggressive in their pricing. The second one sounds like ours with maybe one more item (or maybe a $240 price increase since February). That's a premium package, at $3883 discount. The premium plus package at a $3870 discount is much more profitable for the dealer. I couldn't justify the extra expense for the heated seats on ours and I usually drive to Colorado for a couple of weeks of skiing. And I don't really notice much improvement with the Xenon headlights on our other car over what the Lexus does. A lot depends on how much night driving you do on interstate highways away from the city. In the city areas with the roadside lights they don't add much, on the twisty roads we have in the hill country they don't help at all! I guess it just boils down to which options you like better, but they should be able to discount the premium plus package by about another $1200-$1500 I would think. Good luck |

| Help!! Dealer has offered to sell me a 2005 RX330 with Premium Plus package for $39,300 plus tax or a 2004 RX330 with Premium Plus package for $37,300 plus tax. My questions are: (1) are these prices competitive (given that it is now August 27, 2004 and we are at the end of the 2004 model year and at the beginning of the 2005 model year)?; (2) what kinds of prices are the rest of you being offered for the 2005 RX330's with the Premium Plus package?; and, (3) should I buy the 2005 or the 2004 under these circumstances? Thanks in advance. | |
