#2608 of 2926 Key Fob Doesn't Work - 2006 Uplander by zil

May 07, 2006 (6:29 pm)

How do you program a key fob on a 2006 Chevy Uplander?

I need the GM/L not the GM/UTA
I also can help wit a Nissan and Ford

Here is the GM/UTA way

Different keyless entry systems are used on General Motors vehicles. The
parts are not interchangeable even though the parts may appear to be
similar. Observe the back of the transmitter in order to properly identify
the system. On 2000 S/T pickups and utilities, use a transmitter identified
with GM/UTA preceding the part number.
With the driver door closed, hold down the power unlock button on the door
panel.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Release the power unlock button on the door panel. The remote control door
lock receiver will respond in the following manner in order to indicate that
the receiver is in the programming mode:
Locking the doors
Unlocking the doors
Important
All extra transmitters must be programmed at this time. When a new
transmitter is programmed, the old transmitters will be deactivated.
Hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter until the remote
control door lock receiver will respond in the following manner:
Locking the doors.
Unlocking the doors.
Repeat step 7 for each additional transmitter.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position in order to exit the transmitter
programming mode.
In order to reprogram the remote control door lock transmitter with a scan
tool, refer to Scan Tool instructions.
Memory Seat Recall Programming
Adjust the driver seat to the desired position.
Press the switch labeled SET. A chime confirmation will be heard.
Press the desired position switch labeled 1 or 2. Within 5 seconds from
pressing the SET switch, a chime confirmation will be heard.
Press the UNLOCK button on the desired transmitter (key fob) within 5
seconds from pressing the SET switch. A chime confirmation will be heard.
The transmitter (key fob) is now programmed with the desired position
switch. Pressing the transmitter UNLOCK button will cause a recall request
to be initiated and the seat will adjust to position 1 or 2.
The stored memory positions may be changed without having to reprogram the
transmitter.
The transmitter feature is available in all ignition positions.
Memory Seat Recall Unprogramming
Press the switch labeled SET. A chime confirmation will be heard.
Press the UNLOCK button on the transmitter (key fob) within 5 seconds from
pressing the SET switch.
Do not press any memory switch or power adjustment for 5 seconds. Pressing a
switch will cancel the unprogramming event and the transmitter will remain
programmed.
The transmitter (key fob) is now unprogrammed and pressing the UNLOCK button
will not effect memory seat operation.
No chime confirmation will be heard when the UNLOCK button is pressed if the
transmitter is unprogrammed.

Hi Jenny, It's Angie....Sorry i havent been on here lately but been busy taking our SECOND SV6 to the dealer for ALL THE SAME PROBLEMS AS OUR FIRST ONE!!!! Doesn't shock me, I should have known better! It is only a matter of time before they have to buy this one back as well. No one can tell me that they think this is a RARE thing in these vans. For one person to have TWO vans that are lemons in NOT a coincidence!! I have had it in for the sliding doors, the fuel pump/fuel gauge, the starter and the whistling noise in speakers. This van only has 1800 miles on it....

#2612 of 2926 Low oil pressure in New Pontiac Montana by clifford123

May 27, 2006 (11:26 am)

Hi ,

I bought a brand new pontiac montana about two months ago and within one month, I had a low pressure oil message ( not the low oil light) but the actual message.

The message usually appears at start up and do not stay on. It occasionally appear but not all the time.

I sent the vehicle to the dealership but because they could not see the message they could not fix it and said that they could not duplicate the customer's concern.

I sent it again to the dealership as the message keep coming when I used it. Again they could not see the message and could not fix the problem.

Has anyone had such a problem and have your dealership been able to correct the problem?

I have taken my Montana SV6 in twice because of the radio reception and they tell me nothing is wrong with it. I also have had the radio steering wheel controls malfuction and again they tell me nothing is wrong. Has anyone else had this problem? Also thanks to everyone ref the flickering lights, now I have something to take back to the dealer who told me again nothing was wrong.

Have noticed (2/3 times) the low oil pressure message but only for a few seconds when the engine was cold at start up. Assumed-hopefully correctly-it was low only because it was cold.

Mine did appear at least three to five times a week and not only when cold , sometimes in the afternoon or evening when the temperature is hot and usually at start up.

Talked to the dealer today and apparently they do not know the source of the problem and they are working on a fix. I would contact the dealer for your problem. The higher the number of people complaining about it , the faster they will find a fix to it. In the meantime they are asking me not to worry about it.

Imagine if the engine catches fire because of that message, the warranty will not cover the repairs. See the manual.

That VIN " 1GNDV33L95D" is only a partial VIN. All VINs for vehicles sold in USA have had 17 digets since 1981 or so.

This partial # identifies the vehicle as 1= Made in USA, G= general motors, N = Chev Multi-purpose, D = 5-6,000lbs GVW, V3= Uplander ext wheelbase, 3= 4dr MPV, L = 3.5L 6 cyl, 9= check diget, 5= model year 2005, D = assembly plant. The 6 digets missing from what would be a complete VIN are the numbers that would be unique to each vehicle.

There could be hundreds or thousands of vehicles with the same first 11 digets. Each of these vehicles would have their own unique last six digets to identify each specific vehicle.

If there are many reports of problems with "1GNDV33L95D" it means that that make & model with the 3.5L engine manufactured in the assembly plant designated as "D" has had many problems.
